Hello fellow members,

1. I have installed Joomla v1.5 and i am ready to start creating a site. I am trying to create a Personal Portfolio Website with the ability to use "Simple Viewer" (a photo vieweing feature - http://www.simpleviewer.net/products/) and wanted to know where I can obtain Personal Portfolio Templates for me to use and then edit?

2. Can someone also tell me when I choose a Domain/Webhosting company - dO I need to go for LINUX or Windows? From what I heard LINUX is the one to use for Joomla or am I wrong?

3. Can someone suggest the best webhosting firm which has cheapest price? I need to buy a .co.uk domain too.

Linux is fine for Joomla and cheaper than Windows hosting! Most have "Cpanel" or similar that will install Joomla for you although maybe not the latest version. Not sure how SimpleViewer will integrate with Joomla though.

I managed to find hosting for £15.00 a year to experiment with. No domain name included but I registered my domain with one of the volume resellers and just pointed it to the hosting service.

No sure about posting links here so PM me if you require them.

Linux or Windows - doesn't matter a whole much if you use a reputable hosting company. I pay a little bit more than the average, but I host quite a few sites in the same webspace. I'm on the basic package from:

They also offer a free domain with the Basic Hosting.

RocketTheme do by far and away the best Joomla themes I have seen:
