Help needed with Subtitles

I have a Vu+ Solo2 running OpenVix 5.3.012 and have copied a video file (.avi) to its HDD.

This plays fine, but, there are no subtitles available in the file. So, I downloaded some .srt files and copied those to the same folder.

However, there is still none displayed. If I hit the Audio button twice to get the subtitles screen then there is nothing shown.

Should it be possible to get it to pick up the subtitles from a .srt file and, if so, what is the trick?

It should play the external srt file but the filenames must match exactly (apart from the extension)
