Apologies if in the wrong section, but I have just bought a H7S box and dipping my toes into the satellite game!

Just moved into a new house and the previous occupants had some form of sky I believe, so plugged in the f plug from the box to the wall and tried to set up Freesat channels. I have gone through combinations of ABM and blind scans and signal finder but can't seem to get more than around 40 channels or so and none of the BBC, ITV or common channels.

Could it be that there is a Sky Q LNB on the dish and I need to get it changed or am I doing something hopelessly wrong? I have managed to get as good a photo of the LNB as possible and would appreciate any input.

Thanks in advance everyone!

What channels are you getting? It might be pointed at a different satellite

That is a wideband LNB for Sky Q, it is why you are having the issue you mention. You will have to change it if you want to use an Enigma2 receiver. Straight forward to do.

Are there no enigma2 boxes that can use the Sky Q wideband LNBs?

Given that someone has to go up the ladder, in your position I would be tempted to investigate Unicable LNBs and install to your needs. I might also replace the dish, but I would seek advice on that - it looks like a sky dish, you might be able to get some cash/trade in for it. Your zgemma box will be able to use the legacy ports on a new Unicable LNB (GT-Sat Unicable LNB from the WoS shop for example), but the real advantages will appear when you get a box with FBC tuners. I'm a bit new to all this myself and have recently bought a box with FBC tuners and connected it to my legacy universal LNB setup. The improvement in recording opportunities is marvellous with a lot less timer clashes. My next step will be to upgrade the LNB to Unicable.

Thanks for the feedback guys, definitely something to chew on. I don't have a ladder tall enough to reach it myself so will probably need to get someone to change it.

Having a quick look at the Unicable LNB options - I think may be too much for my needs at the moment. Only going to need it going to the living room and can't see myself needing to do much in the way of recordings, tend to use catch up services for that mainly. I think probably a quad LNB would be the best for my needs at the moment, or is it worth investing to future proof it?

Go for the Unicable LNB in 6 months you may want it and if your paying someone to go up ladder you will have to pay again making Quad LNB false economy.
