Want to start from scratch - liitle confused?

I am hoping to get this box next week but I want to start from scratch so I have not opted for any image to be pre-loaded so can I just assume that recovery module is already installed and I can just flash latest vix image? Then I can go and learn the rest ie multiboot etc.

My guess is it'll arrive with some default image installed that was installed at the factory and you will be able to try it if you wish or use recovery procedure to flash other images.
Please if anyone knows more detail do say.
