VIX 2.0 and online updates

Reading the post which announces the most recent VIX release, I found this sentence: "Online updates will not work!!! ".
What does it mean?
I flashed the new version and then tried to execute Setup->Software management->Software update and it worked without any problem (it installed 31 updates).
So, what does that sentence mean?

this means that you have to flash vix 2.0 from new as updating online from a older version to vix 2.0 wont work.
