Hi,
just received my VU+ box and loaded it with openpli using USB. No apparent problems.
Is CCcam preloaded? because when I go into softcam setup/cl> softcam setup it shows none.
When I try to download CCcam 2.1.4 i get an error saying ipkg needs updating?????
Anyone any suggestions?

Press Menu > Plugins > Green button to download addons > Select CCcam2.1.4 under softcams.

Tried that, got Execution progress....wget:bad address 'downloads.pli-images.org and wget--passive-ftp and finally, failed to download enigma2-plugin-softcams-ccam. Perhaps you need to run 'ipkg update'? Execution finished!!

Am I missing something obvious? It's showing my network all ok when tested and i had my dm800 working on it earlier.

What OpenPLi image are you using? Try software update on it. Press blue button > Software management > Software update. Once done, reboot and try installing the cam again.

Look like a network error to me as the the first date should read 2010-05-20 if the software update ran through. Look like your box isn't accessing the web. Check the network settings.

I have gone into network settings and restarted the network.
When I run a network test everything is showing green.
Any other actions you can think of that I might try?

Try re-flashing m8, use the newbie image here http://www.vuplus-support.co.uk/showthread.php?524-VuPlus-Support.co.uk-OpenPLi-powered-backup-image-for-newbie%E2%80%99s-12-05-10 Once flashed try software update again. Then CCcam.

:-) thats the image I flashed with. I will try it again as suggested. Failing that I will put back on my DM800 and make sure the network is communicating with that.
Again, appreciate the help.
I might give it a rest tonight and approach it again tmrw. Its a pity as I was really looking forward to Messing with the new box. Ah well, teething problems.

It pays to keep trying.
I took one of your earlier suggestions about the network and went straight from my modem to the VU+ (bypassing my router) and lo and behold I could download CCcam.
Cheers for all the help and suggestions. I'm sure this wont be my last time to dip in with questions.

I got the same problem and message as wes57 when I tried this also.

Changed the network settings so I was not using DHCP and gave the VU+ Duo a default address of 192.168.#.100. Reserved this address in the router configuration.

This allows the plugin to be installed without any issues.

What routers are causing the issue? What make models to do you have? You tried flashing the router with latest firmware?

I'm using the DLink (DIR 615) router VM ship with their broadband. Just received the box so I'm guessing it's the latest firmware. Will check once kids get off the wii

Not a great router that one, I had it and ditched it in favour of their netgear one. Flashed with a proper netgear image.
