I have just tried to flash my tv box using the latest openvix image, but on bootup and holding in the power button, it says there is no partition.

I first just copied the hd51 folder to a formatted fat usb stick, then I extracted the hd51 folder to the same usb stick, then I tried a different usb stick. All had the same result....no partition when attempting to boot from the usb stick.

I have done this before sometime ago without errors,so what is wrong this time.

Thanks

Depends how long some time ago was, so this might be appropriate....

If not, there should be just one folder on the stick, called hd51

Sometime ago was last July ish., and there is just 1 folder on the stick called hd51.

What will booting the hd51-bolt-v107r27 do, just fix bootloader issues.
Then after that flash the box with the larest vix image??
Thanks

Update:
I flashed the box with the bolt image, then tried the openvix image again. On booting I got the same error message: no partition.
There is only the hd51 folder on the usb stick with 3 items in it:

imageversion
kernel.bin
rootfs.tar.bz2

Try couch flashing using image manager. No need to mess about with sticks.

Ok, but doesn't the image have to be somewhere on the tv box or usb stick first.

How do I actually use image manger, is there a guide anywhere.
Thanks

From memory, menu/setup/ViX/imagemanager.

Coloured button to download the image you want. When it's downloaded, select it and flash (blue button, I think.)

By default, it will also make a settings backup.

Thanks, I figured it out and downloaded the latest openvix image to the hd51. Now when I select image manage I am asked if I want to flash the new image.

I didn't as I don't have time to reset all the settings I had on the hd51.
Another day when more time is avaialble.

After flashing, you'll be asked if you want to restore your settings. If you have taken a settings backup, then answer yes!

I'm pretty sure imagemanager takes one by default when you flash, make one yourself in backupmanager to be sure.

Thanks for that.

I made a backup of my current settings, then flashed the new / latest image, restored the backup etc, and hey bingo, the hd51 was back working again in about 10 minutes. I did have to download the epg in Autobouqetmaker to get the tv listings back.

I didn't realise it could be so easy and quick doing that method.
