Hi - I received a new Zgemma H7S bought from World of Satellite yesterday, pre-flashed with OpenVix 5.3 Rel 035. I'm very happy with it generally but I just can't get PiP working.

After some googling I saw somewhere that I may need to switch to PiP mode.

I selected Menu > Standby and Restart > Multiboot Image Selector and the following options are displayed:

Slot 1 - OpenVix 5.3 rel 035 - Kodi mode (current)
Slot 1 - OpenVix 5.3 rel 035 - PiP mode

I selected the PiP mode and the system crashes, log attached.

Any idea how I can get PiP working?

I don't think the H7S is capable of PIP. I would probably buy one if it was! I did ask this question when the H7S first came out.

.... I think it does support PiP, but there appears to be a problem with Multiboot.

I've seen various comments on other forums that seem to imply it does work on the H7. For example: https://forums.openpli.org/topic/60400-zgemma-h7c-picture-in-picture-in-openpli-62/

Sorry about that obviously wasn't thinking - can you try the following attachment
1. in a telnet session (putty) type init 4 (space between)
2. copy the attachment to /usr/lib/enigma2/python/screens (think thats correct - i am sitting in hospital at the moment!) - rename existing 1st
3. in telnet init 6 (space between) to reboot

then try again!

..... and Yes, h7 and hd51 have two bootmodes.

Excellent! Thanks, that sorted it.

(btw the path is /usr/lib/enigma2/python/Screens - i.e. Capital S in Screens).

Should I assume that Kodi won't work in this mode? Wasn't planning to install it anyway.

Thanks for the quick feedback, will have to issue the fix when I get some quiet time.
Kodi is better with bootmode 1 (the default)

So can we now confirm if installing a standard version of Openvix on a H7s that PIP will work the same as on my Solo2?

The H7 and hd51 have always had Pip options available...... you just need to choose the correct bootmode aanf Kodi and PiP are not compatible on these boxes
