How to Run VLC on VU+Duo2

I'm sure this topic has been covered before I couldn't find it.
Can anyone tell me how to run VLC on my VU + Duo2?

Maybe there's another media player that will do the same job?

vlc usally runs on your PC and not on the box

I wanted to run it on the VU box so as to manually add subtitles to downloaded movies, esp foreign language movies.
VLC runs ok on my PC but the VU box & TV are in another room.

There is also a thread on PLI that says



External subtitles (srt) are now working, just convert them to UTF8 and select them with TEXT button while in Media Player. At least since 17 may. Nice work!
