Hi. I have just updated from 5.3.014 to 5.3.023. I wish I hadn't as I see the only kodi version available now is 18.6

Would it be possible to put kodi 17.6 back in the plugins for us solo2 users.

I have a "no sound" issue with kodi 18.6 but kodi 17.6 worked great.

Not possible unfortunately. Can you not go back to the earlier ViX builds with Kodi 17.6 in the feeds?

I can't imagine "no sound" can't be sorted in Kodi 18.6

Little workaround tested on an Vu+ Uno4k.

If anyone / user wants to try for themselves, all at own risk heres the files (honestly they just take from 17.6 on OpenPLI as most Open OE feeds now the 18.6. (pretty much just so it makes it play external e2 player, if people people prefer playback via old method)

Go on FileZilla or similar
Go to the location /usr/share/kodi/system
Back up (download originals to a folder on PC) and replace the playercorefactory.xml and advancedsettings.xml with ones attached.

This will then make the Kodi 18.6 play externally as prior versions.

Works Perfect on my Uno4k on OpenVIX, PurE2, OpenATV 6.4, OpenBH, OpenSPA, just means external play.

Disclaimer - this is just me messing about, not OpenVIX related, try at own will.

Same problem here "NO SOUND" on my VUDUO2, this fix worked for me too.
Is there any quality control procedures in place with theses updates?

I thought danny121pt s fix would solve the problem. I overwrote "playercorefactory" but there is no "advancedsetting" to overwrite.

Also when exit kodi it just hangs, it wont go back to tv.

Any help please.

If you haven't worked it out already Kodi is flaky - even on my Android media player updating Kodi brings all sorts of new (& often old) issues - don't expect any image to do anything than provide the Kodi plugin....... E2 is a sat system image and not a media player

Yes, I did copy it, but there is no advancedsettings.xml on kodi

It was working fine on 5.3.034 I wish I had stayed there.
I'm sure I've said this before, but if you'd taken an image backup of 5.3.034, then you could be running it again in a few minutes.

Gone back to 5.3.034 and all good again, but I would still like to be able to use kodi on 5.4.003 image if anyone has the answer.

Thanks, but I already have asound installed and I still had no sound.

Has anyone found a way to amend the latest kodi so it makes it play external e2 player? as there doesn't appear to be an advancedsettings.xml to overwrite.

Has anybody got kodi (with sound) working on a 5.4.*** image on a solo2 yet? I'm still using 5.3.034 but would like to update.

I can't be the only one having problems with kodi on the latest 5.4.*** images. Can anyone help me with a solution please.
