Hi,

I have a 4k vu duo and a motorised dish set up with usals. After the stormy weather last week I have had some poor reception and the image is blocking up sometimes. Previously when I have had this, rather than realign the dish I have just tweaked my longitude and latitude settings on the tuner (menu->setup->tuner setup) by 0.5 wither way to improve it.

However, I have tried this again and it doesn't seem to make too much difference. Is there away to test if the signal is actually stronger so I can find the strongest signal? Or is there another way to fine tune it without getting the ladders out. Anytime I have previously mentioned the SNR in various discussions it seem that is no indication of signal strength.

Thanks,
Dan

Selecting a service is one way. You can also use signal finder.

There is a function for tune and focus. You will have to search forum for it. Someone used it several years ago and Rob asked him to post further details to help others.

It may not be possible to fudge things if dish assembly has moved too much. Only solution is to safetly go up the ladder and adjust it.

Have a look at Menu > Setup > Tuner Config > Positioner setup > Fine movement

Use the green & yellow buttons to move the dish one click west and one click east.

Will give you some clues as to problem, but is the winds have shifted the dish, best to get it re-aligned correctly from scratch.
