which motor do i get, baring in mind this is going to be my first and ive had a look and its between these 2 althose only £1-£2 difference...

Technomate TM-2600

or

Superior DARK MOTOR - All Metal

i know they are both metal gears but can someone give me the ups n downs and which one would be best with an 80cm orbital dish and a technomate twin lnb with a vu duo

Both are great motors it wont make much difference which you buy

i have had both and you cant tell the difference in daily use

the installer that fitted my kit (who is well know and respected on the sat forums) said he saw more faulty dark motors then TM2600

so i opted for a TM2600, pretty good motor, near silent too!

bo to fair there both great motors and the fact you have chosen to go with metal gearing is 90 percent there already, i know a lot of people who use the TM one so i'd go with that my self as i'm more familiar with it than the dark motor,

you want a Inverto Black Ultra LNB mate :) thy are the danglies!

also a decent set of T&K wall brackets wont hurt either,w ill keep dish up nice and secure, avoid the L shaped wall mounts, horrid!

Well, I personally went with a darkman metal gear motor (altho it's a few years old now), but haven't (touch wood), had any problems... Worked perfect in the 2-3 yeas I've had it :)

Also, as bigup7 says, go for an inverto black ultra ... they are defo worth any premium you may be paying...

Finally, my dish is an 85cm gibertini, so you won't have any problems size wise with whichever motor you go for ;)

You wont go wrong with the TM-2600 ;) Also the Technamte 0.1 LNB's are extremely good too.

Yeh thats the lnb i have the white one. my dam signal is so poor using the standard sky dish im suprised anything works lol need to makes an investment. Which sat dish would you recommend with that motor and for astra 28.2, astra 19 and hotbird 13

You'd be fine with a 80cm for those satellites.
