Yes, you read that correct. We have changed source (hence the long delay in release) to the Open PLi base. Many thanks to them for allowing us to use their base :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:. If they wish to see any of the source code (without ViX specific enhancements of course ;)), just pm andyblac or Sicilian, and we will gladly send them on to them.
Since this is a completely new base, you will have to do a full fresh flash. Online updates will not work!!! Also, you will not be able to restore your settings from ViX 1.3 to 2.0. You will have to manually configure your box, as in testing, this has proven to cause many problems and instabilities in the box!

New Enhancements in v2.0
As already stated, this version of the release has a completely new base. This has required a lot of recoding to get the ViX enchancements working in the new PLi base... Of course, the image has the same enhancements as previous images, apart from some new additions ;)
All new version number - Yup, we've moved on to version 2.0! This has nothing to do with the fact that the PLi version is 2.0... We felt that the addition of the dvb-t (wait for it keep reading :eek:) warranted a brand new version number. This also puts the duo and solo in line number wise!
VIX Duo 2.0 Bootlogos, Radio Logos and Shutdown Logos (thanks again Silver ;))
Core changes to plugins and code to allow ViX features to work on Open PLi
USB DTT - The one you've all been waiting for! To install dvb-t, you just need to go to the plugin menu, and select the stick you have. This will then install the drivers for your stick*. You will then need to restart your receiver. Once restarted, go to Menu -> Setup -> Service Starting -> Tuner Config, and you should notice Tuner C as your USB DTT...
ViX Quick Event Info - This is the new way to receive the event info on the ViX image. Press OK button once to get the info bar up, press it once more (i.e. a second time) to receive the information about what is currently showing...
New ViX Single EPG (with channel preview) - The is new and unique to vix, after you open the ViX single EPG (short RED) you can view the 7 day epg for that channel, now to see another channels epg, either use the Channel up/down buttons on your remote or just key in the channel number. if you want to preview the channel your currently viewing the EPG for (ie you want to see what the current program is like) just press 'OK' on your remote, this will change to that channel showing you the program in the small video window. if you don't like it, go find another channel to preview by keying in new channel number (or up/down buttons). or if you do like it and want to go fullscreen on it, just press 'OK' again. but if you feel you want to return to the original channel you where watching (whilst still in ViX Single EPG) just press 'EXIT" button, this will return to where you where before you entered ViX Single EPG)
QuickEPG Updated to include channel preview - works as above
Debug Logs - This is to enable a better idea of what's been happening with the image for any crashes ... If your box crashes, check the /home/root/ folder, and look for a file that has the date/time modified as to when the box crashed. This can help find any bugs/issues easier ;) To enable/disable this option, go to the ViX Settings. To clear the debug logs, choose yes. This will just delete the debug logs once. If you want to delete the logs again, just go back in to the menu, and change to yes again...
Bigger skin choice - OK, lots of people wanted a bigger choice of skins ... we've added lots more skins :) Also, most skins made for PLi 2.0 should work in ViX 2.0 also. If there are certain parts of the skin not edited for the ViX format (such as ViX menu, ViX Devices Manager, etc), then this should still work just fine. These menus have been hard coded to ensure that they will work if nothing included in to the skin...
Added option to disable ViX coloured buttons - This should ensure that if users want to use MultiQuick button plugin, it should work without issue :)
All of the PLi enhancements - This includes the infamous subtitles requested by many ;) As well as auto audio/subtitle language selection, etc, etc).
Please also note that USB / ESATA devices NEED there mount points setup in Device Manager (green button whilst in Device Manager) in order for them to work correctly.

Bug Fixes in v2.0
Motor moving image does not display - Fixed by Vu in latest drivers.
Installing other skins may cause the box to get into an infinite loop - Since moving over to the PLi image, changes have been made to the way the image works with skins. Now, most skins created for the PLi image should work on the ViX image.

Short Red** & *** - Show current channel EPG info (ViX Single EPG).
Long Red*** - Show current event.
Short Green** & *** - Timers.
Long Green*** - AutoTimer Timers.
Short Yellow*** - EPG Search.
Long Yellow*** - IMDB Database.
Short Blue - Extensions.
Long Blue*** - Plugins Menu.
EPG - Opens ViX EPG.
Left/Right** - Opens ViX QuickEPG.

Known Bugs
Front VFD display showing the play button at the end of a video unless it is stopped manually - Problem with drivers, reported to VU+.
Few problems with WebIf Remote Control coloured buttons in timeshift/playback mode - E.G. The blue button decides to fast forward, not show the extensions menu.
Network mounts not remounting if the source goes offline - You should be able to go in to the network menu, and choose "Mount Again", but this doesn't seem to be working.

A few things I am not able to sort out:
I can not select the usb as location for EPG and swap even if my usb is mounted and listed in device manager.
I am loosing the wifi connection about 3 miniutes after booting. I have tried to restart the wifi network connection but with no success. My wifi usb dongle did work exellent with WIX 1.3.
is this new one based on the original 5.5 vu+duo image, and has it got the very latest drivers in, just want to ask before i think about trying it out

generally hd picons are 100x60. in order for them to show go into vix epg and press menu. select 8 if you want them to show or if you want to use PIG change the amount of picons to 5. exit vix epg and renter and will be there

make sure the amount on show is set to 5 for PIG use and set to 8 if no PIG is being used
picons for DUO/SOLO is 100x60px

it is based on the openpli 2.0 image but it does also have the new official 5.6 drivers incorporated. thats why the release was pushed back for testing these drivers etc.

none of the dev team has one to test but the rt3070 drivers are in the feeds, so any dongle that uses that chipset should work
Now I have a dilemma do I watch the match of flash my Vu lol what should I do. On a more seriouse note does this release have start @ bouquets option or just same as 1.3.

I Have an issue if I perform a network test it fails the local step but it seems to be working i can download plugins and my cam runs fine. Maybe its my router (new super hub from virgin media) upon upgrading to 30mb service although everything passed in VIX 1.3 ?
just flashed the duo and im liking it alot

Have to you mapped the usb stick to /media/usb? So /media/sdb1 > /media/usb, press green button in device manager to set mount points. Then use use left/right buttons to set mount point.

As Sic says, you should map the usb and hdd to the correct mappings... i.e. the usb -> /media/usb, hdd -> /media/hdd...

VIX has never supported multiboot, it has always been recommended that it be loaded directly to the flash of the box. the fact that it did work in multiboot was more a fluke than by design.

As pheonix says ... we don't support multiboot... If you want to try multiboot, it's recommended to have the ViX image in flash, and put other images in multiboot...
Also, might depend on the image that you have in flash ... When I used to use barry allen on dm800, the image in flash had to have the latest drivers installed ... are you using an image in flash with drivers of 20110208?

Multiboot is not Supported in our image it may work but then it may or may nopt give you issues as the new images going back VIX 1.2 was not multiboot supported as it gives many troubles
if you decide to go down the multi boot route and find it is unstable then this is something not supported by VIX and really should not be used

TBH, I used to get it quite often with a few images when I set the IP address to an address that was different to the address given to the box from dhcp. e.g. DHCP would assign the address 192.168.1.151, but I wanted the IP address 192.168.1.201, so when I set that address on the duo, it would cause it to fail the network test, but still work fine...

im having a strange connection problem. my network disconnects on the vu duo wheneva i am downloading a plugin or changing settings in the menu. i dont know why but it will lose connection and to get the connection back to the net i have to reboot the box. im using mgcamd and i didnt have this problem on vix 1.3. just wondering if anyone else having this issue
can anyone confirm if coolepg is working? mine said it was not installed so i installed 2.2.2 and it just green screens when i press the epg button.

All the people with network problems try rebooting/restarting you routers so that it assign's a ip to your box

I had this issue earlier try restarting the network in network settings and try restarting the box took several attempts but works now. Although it fails the local part of network test everthing works fine
Small issue with installing Skins. Using Software Management, they seem to install but none show in the Skins menu.
Using Plugins/Download plugins, they do show & work though.
Also using Add Auto Timer on the VIX EPG doesn't show the programme in red when timer is saved, not sure if it will record yet, will know in 30 mins. Just using Add Timer does show it in red.
Looking forward in testing this image out!
And the subs should be working also for us guys up here in the nordic countries!

tmp is there ... it's just a symlink in pli images... It symlinks to /var/volatile/tmp/
tmp is listed right at the bottom of the list using DCC

Try pause, then play, then rewind. A pain I know but when I tried out the PLI nightly build 2 nights ago, that's how it worked.

If you've flash of course you'll loose whatever password you set, bit like re-formatting a pc. Default password is blank, meaning there is no password set.
see Sicilians post above - no password will be needed once you flash with VIX2.0, untill you add one if you want.
Sicillian mentioned that after reflashing you have to mount the devices again, am correct in assuming that the recordings will remain intact?
Also its advised not to restore settings but I can copy and reimport autotimer list?

Yes recording will remain on your HDD. Theres no need to initialize a HDD thats already been initiliazed. HDD will most likely be automatically set its mount point in device manager as media/hdd.
not installed it yet....just a quick qustion to ask if the new image will play avi and such like files ok now?

red autotimer means you have it disabled
Cant find any driver for the nova t ,looked in plugins/ dvb , i get 2 sundtek drivers :confused:.
bob1 if its the same as PLi its in plugins drivers and called something like dvb-usb-dib0700 (1.0.r0).

Are you sure you've flashed ViX2.0? Does it have the new bootlogo's? Also try a software update another this is the feeds server was down overnight. There is a driver called Nova-T.

Because 9.2 update contains latest language file for my country (it was commited 9.2)

the image as of release was FULLY upto date with PLi, but we will prob do updates once a week. every night will be hard as if something breaks we wont know if it was our update or theres ;).

I'd like to give some feedback on DVB-T using Sundtek stick. Maybe IrishChris can confirm it reproes for him too.
Been using Sundtek stick on 1.3 as well. It used to take about 1 sec to wake the stick up from standby when swithing to a DVB-T channel. With 2.0 it takes probably about 2 secs. Not sure if it is my setup so IrishChris or others with Sundtek, please let me know.
I know the difference is negligable, I thought I'd still provide the feedback in case this is helpful. Let me know if you need logs or any other info.

on the opposite for me mate. i find the only time it takes about 2 seconds is when i first boot the vu+ up and switch to dvb-t as it has an energy saving feature and needs to power on. but after that even if i go back to sat and later back to dvb-t it only takes quick second for it to wake from standby and show dvb-t with this latest version :)

Are you sure you've flashed ViX2.0? Does it have the new bootlogo's? Also try a software update another this is the feeds server was down overnight. There is a driver called Nova-T.

Gave this a whirl last night all very nice but I have had to go back to 1.2 as the kids and the mrs like the start @ bouquets option. Othere than that the image did look good and as usual very easy to setup I had it fully up and running in about 10mins. It`s very good that although cams are banned on the forum the image still suports cam manager.
everytime i flash with any vix image i lose all my mtv package of sly uk, only my normal mtv channel, and mtvhd channel working my mtv base and the rest dont work, i have rescanned and still dont work, all the other images i flash with all seem to work all the mtv channels i subscribe to, any ideas why this is happening with this image ?

VIX 2.0 working very well, no problems at all with install. All settings checked and working, however.....in the skins menu on VIX 1.3 there was a skin called 705 (think thats the name) Its not on VIX 2.0. Its not in this release, that's the Official skin and will not work with this image as quite a lot of work would be needed to get it to work correctly.

Before you flash, save your settings/bouquets with Dreamboxedit. Once flashed transfer back. If your done correctly they will still be there.

no i mean when i do a manual scan it finds them but wont open them, i have a subscription, for that package, on 28.2e every other image works on them, except vix ?

Do you mean that it won't actually open the channel, or that the sound doesn't play? As iirc, the default audio for MTV channels doesn't work, you need to choose the audio channel for the one you want, and then after choosing correct audio channel, restart your gui (to get it to remember the changes?!
If it's not opening at all, is your box key correct?

That's an old 60gb ide hdd that I had lying around, that I've put in to a 2.5" usb case... It's not a usb flash stick. Works perfectly without needing extra power though :)

I was only reading about the PTS 'bug' in pli the other week when thinking of giving it a go!
I suppose there has to be some trade-off but if PTS can be got back working the way it was in Vix1x that'd be great. i wonder why it's just pli that has the problem with PTS?

1) what version of CoolTV will work? Installed 2.2.2 from Plugins forum here, but it greenscreens. I prefer it to the VIX TV guide as I like to re-assign the buttons...
2) lots of new skins except my favourite - DM Concinnity HD - any chance of this working in future?

* We have changed source (hence the long delay in release) to the Open PLi base* .... right choice .... i always prefer pli image ,
* Added option to disable ViX coloured buttons - This should ensure that if users want to use MultiQuick button plugin, it should work without issue* .. this is very very important point for me
note 1 : i use pli image ... the last drivers already in after i updated my vubox ... without the need to reflash , so i think it will be the same with new vix image
note 2: * Front VFD display showing the play button at the end of a video unless it is stopped manually - Problem with drivers, reported to VU+* ... its not a problem
i fixed it just do the following steps:
behavior when a move is started ... you can choice resume from last position or what you prefer
behavior when a move is stopped ... make it to return movie list
behavior when a move reaches the end .... make it return to previous service
then ok and restart enigma
i will reflash my vubox today with the new vix image 2.0 , and hope that everything will be ok

Nice image. Thanks guys. 1 thing I've just noticed - and it may be a temporary thing - I can't seem to add a 6th timer via the web interface. Get the green confirmation that it's happened but doesn't appear in list - just my previous 5.

my CCcam is working(So I definitely have a live internet connection) but when I run the network test, My LAN connection passes, however my Local fails yet DHCP, IP Address and Nameserver all pass?

can someone who uses mgcamd send me a copy of their mg_cfg file that goes in var/keys as for some strange reason, i have to randomly restart mgcamd from the softcam manager, maybe once or twice before it starts working again as only FTA work. before i thought it was the network so i would reboot the box and it would come back on but then i just tried the mgcamd and restarted and it came back so it seems its losing connection and i dont know why. im using 1.35a from the cams on this forum. also does anyone have anything in there newcamd.list other than the obvious line that should be in there

I understand that the new image doesn't reload settings as 1.3 did and you have to load new ones or use DreamEdit to save and reload yours, but what about the timers? If I save the timers files can I put them back? I have about 20 of them and it will be a pain to start from scratch.

Drivers installed ok, tuner was recognised after a reboot and a service scan reported 102 channels found. However, I cannot figure out how to access the DVB-T channels. Do I need to set up a new bouquet or something?
i have a strange problem i have vix 1.3 on now all working good i have used the usb version of vix 2.0 and have now installed it from a usb stick np but when the image loads the screen turns pink after load its ok wile booting eg logos and so on but when the image is up and running its pink all the time i have set the right display setting as before i have noticed that i cannot change the brightness and contrast setting and that's what i think it is every thing else on the image is working fine just pink can anyone shed some light on this problem as im lost

Yes, use dreamboxedit, download the latest files from your box after you've scanned your channels. You should see DVB-T in one of the dropdowns on the left of the toolbar, sorry forgot exactly which one. Than just create a new bouquet to add all those channels.

Many thanks. I think I've figured out how to make them easily accessible now. What I had forgotton to do was ftp the settings back to DreamBoxEdit after doing the DVB-T service scan. Now I have done that I can see all the DVB-T channels so can set about creating a bouquet of the ones I want.

AFAIK as long as the softcam config files are in the correct place, and the softcam file is in usr\softcams (and CHMODded to 755) then you just need to start the softcam in Menu\Setup\Softcam CI/Softcam Manager

Best thing to do, ftp in to /etc/enigma2/ and download the files timers.xml and autotimer.xml. This will save the files. Then, after setting up your box, upload the files, and issue the command in telnet "killall -9 enigma2". This will restart and keep the info from those files.
Before you do this, do an image backup in image manager ;)

2. Cool TV 2.2.0 crashes (Any fix)

I installed Multiquickbutton and switched off the VIX colour buttons and reassigned Cool TV to the EPG button with Multiquickbutton and it works OK.

I had to disable picons in VIX EPG, exit it. Then go back in and enable them again & they now show up.

Can anyone please check if oscam works on this image?
I tested both oscams from here: http://www.4shared.com/dir/wnyHV50A/VIX_CAMS.html and both fail to start or autostart.
Cccam 2.1.4 works ok.
In openpli 2.0 manual start via telnet of oscam didnt work (./oscam), i had to start it via softcam manager. Wierd. Maybe this is somehow connected with VIX problem.

I am loosing the wifi connection about 3 miniutes after booting. I have tried to restart the wifi network connection but with no success. My wifi usb dongle did work exellent with WIX 1.3.

The image now automatically finds the picons wherever they are (within reason). Mine were on the USB stick and they were found straight away, I didn't set the path anyware.
This was like this in the latest 1.3 update.

These skins are modified to work on PLI 2.0 and not all the functions/mapping has been done to all the skins to show ecm times on the VIX 2.0

no not at all that's straight from a fresh install i have not even loaded the channel list yet nothing vix 1.3 was on working with picons and then all i have done is put the image on a usb stick and flashed it and after reboot pink screen. Loads logos with normal color then soon as its stopped loading enigma 2 setting bang its pink but dosent do this when i do a fresh install of vix 1.3

So my only option to access Software Update and Plug in downloads is to not use VIX?
Not much of an option really! ;-)
This is a network issue, check your router has dchp enable and reboot your router. If you've got interent access theres no reason that your wouldn't be able to access the plugins.
i hope you did not try to restore any setting from any other image.
im using component ypgt or whatever it is and set to 1080i as i say if i flash vix 1.3 with component setting all color is good but on vix 2.0 same setting is all pink and just to let u know this happens before i even select the video settings

Change your A/V settings to suit your component, component isn't 1080i.
Re-flashed for the third time and still can't see driver for nova t ,can someone please confirm if its in plugins/dvb or not ,cause it ain't for me.

The image now automatically finds the picons wherever they are (within reason). Mine were on the USB stick and they were found straight away, I didn't set the path anyware.
This was like this in the latest 1.3 update.

Yes thanks, There was a menu item that were we could select hard drive or USB. I did set it for USB because when filping channels there was a small delay while they were found on the hard drive. So I will delete the ones on the hard drive and hope they load off the stick. Thanks again.

dose not matter what a/v setting a put it on 578 , 480 , 720 , 1080 it says pink i have dreamelite 1.33f and that's fine on same setting so is vix 1.1 , 1.2 , 1.3 just 2.0 that's giving me this problem no av settings make any diff at all as i say the only ones a cannot change is the setting that have the vertical bar on screen for the brightness and the contrast witch i think is giving me the pink color as ones at the bottom and ones at the top

As I said earlier, Have rebooted router and Vu Duo(Twice now following your earlier Suggestion), Checked DHCP on both and while I have an active internet connection for CCcam and IMDB etc, I have no access to the Plug ins or Software Update.
As for the no reason I should have an active connection and no access to the plug ins.....I agree ;-) It has me stumped!!!!

first you will need to turn off ViX Coloured buttons in vix setting, setup multiquickbutton plugin using long blue and multiquickbotton

Strange that one as i only just to the pic of the server list
I had to disable picons in VIX EPG, exit it. Then go back in and enable them again & they now show up.

i reflashed my vubox with vix 2.0 image
every thing is oky , no crashes
but please .. is this image support meoboot ? if yes then which ver of meoboot
i installed ver 0.96 but when i press ok op meoboot i got these :
1- sorry , meoboot can be installed or upgraded only when booted from flash
2- sorry , this meoboot version can be installed only on dm8000 machines

Most people that have upgraded have said the media player side has improved

how can i record the timeshift in usb???? i do have a hhd and a usb card 16G. i have all picons on usb card and it works fine. the usb card is mounted to media/usb

I put them on HDD. Had the exact same issue, they worked on the info bar but not in VIX EPG.
Disabling them in VIX EPG, saving the settings, exit EPG. Enter EPG, enable them again worked for me.

Argh.... just got my VU solo now, but cant seem to install any images.... as it won't recognise my usb stick...tried to ftp over the "mbox-dvd-modules", but nothing happens!
Well a bad thing happend just now actually.... now really nothing happens.....there is no signal to the TV at all....it's all black! tried to restarted numerus times...still it's black....
so....what now?
And can I flash image the old fasion way trugh the LAN or Dreamup?

Glad to hear its not just me!!!
I've dropped back to various other images and all had full plug in and Update support but every time I go back to 2.0 NADA, No access to updates and my network configuration is correct! Can't figure it out at all!

haven't tried your image for a while..looks impressive. Must however say that there are apparently some problems with the German language file. There are still some parts in English that haven't been translated or should be revised. Any plans on changing that?

If you are going to start an app from telnet and your are in the /usr/softcams directory, you have to prefix the command with ./ so the command will look like this..:
./Oscam
This is because the current directory is not usually included in the path on a Linux system...

I've tested 7.2 but it seems that it not work properly. If I choose Neutrino (classic) one should be able to use OK button to bring up program list. But nothing happens. And when I try to uninstall the system loops in enigma restarts and cannot be halted. Is there a way to make Pauli compatible?

Can you post some crash logs from /media/hdd??? Or the file under /home/root with the time/date it crashed if you have enabled the detailed crash log within the vix menu :)

The same happens with OpenPLi 2.0 but when you start oscam using their softcam manager it works!!
In VIX 2.0 it doesnt work, even when using VIX softcam manager.
Please fix or return old softcam manager (openpli 2.0) where oscam works.
I am also atttaching two crash logs which are not related to softcams. I am using magic sd skin.
Maybe they are relevant, maybe not...

By the looks of it, it's trying to load it from the wrong location... afaik, oscam looks in /etc/tuxbox/config/ I would guess that the PLi softcam told oscam to look there rather than the default of where PLi makes it look (not sure why it would be looking there :confused:).

DM Concinnity HD anyone tried this skin?
Firstly I would like to thank all those involved with this great image. Have to say this in the fastest upgrade for me so far. Did have some concerns with installing CCcam, but everything went like clockwork and all is working 100%

No picons in EPG FIXED!!
removed picon set from plugin manager and manually copied a set of picons via FTP and they worked like a charm.
Now have picons in info bar and EPG.

1 mod by Holi - this greenscreens on startup
2 mod by Holi - seems to work OK but is quite light (no ECM info in infobar etc.)

i have a strange problem i have vix 1.3 on now all working good i have used the usb version of vix 2.0 and have now installed it from a usb stick np but when the image loads the screen turns pink after load its ok wile booting eg logos and so on but when the image is up and running its pink all the time i have set the right display setting as before i have noticed that i cannot change the brightness and contrast setting and that's what i think it is every thing else on the image is working fine just pink can anyone shed some light on this problem as im lost

right looks like this problem is to do with openpli 2.0 i have downloaded the lastest one from there site and when i install it i get the same problem all pink i have changed all the av settings and they make no diff at all only dose this on openpli 2.0 and vix 2.0 so guess the something in the base that dose not like my setup on component all other images work fine without this problem is just this base that i have the problem with so looks like i will have to stay with vix 1.3

I have been a few problems with this new image and the green screen looping and the only way to get it off is to unplug and restart .
seems to be doing it when i go into the menu, cant give you a correct list yet as its been doing it on a few button presses and i cant get the crash log due to it sticking on the green screen loop . :confused:

No I have'nt before, but now I have done I software update, 30 updates done, restarted the box and tryed again, the image crashed again when I go to the devices manager. I can't have acces to the hard disk log file becouse hard disk is unmounted.
Should I go back to my Black Hole back up or is there any solution?

For CCCam copy your config and key files to PC (Shared folder). Copy the binary to PC (FTP). Flash 2.0. Copy config and key files back (Shared folder). Copy binary back (Shared folder on 2.0). Start it in Softcam Manager on the box. Set it to autostart. Takes all of 2 mins in total.

VIX EPG,
In VIX 1.3 I had it so the EPG showed the picture and long description, but in 2.0 it is just showing the EPG grid with no long description or image. How do I turn that back on?
