Record 1 channel while watching another ?

Hi
I have a duo, setup on 1 fixed dish 28.2 (tuner a) and 1 motorised dish (tuner b), if I want to watch 1 channel on 28.2 and record another on the same sat will I have to move my motorised dish to 28.2 or will it move as soon as I try to record ?

It Depends on which transponders the channels are on

The motorised dish will automatically move if needed. For instance is the second event is on the same transponder as the first event there will be no need for it to move.

Thanks for the quick replys, makes life easier if the motorised dish will move to 28.2 automatically. Must say I have had my duo for 2 days now and am very impressed so far with the VIX image. Just starting to learn Python, so another 5 years and I might be able to script:)

I have the same set up but when I tried to record on another transponder my dish did not move and the channels on the other transponders had greyed out any ideas ?

check your motor configeration, and make sure 28 east is activated

motor is set to use usals how do i check to see if 28 is activated, it moves to all others fine and when on 28 it switches to tuner a automatically ?

You would assume that tuner b set to usals it would know that 28.2 is potentially available on both tuners but maybe not.

You might need to set tuner B to advanced and then for each sat that you can pick up set to LNB1 and diseqc to 1.2 and Long and Lat as you set already.

Ive done the exact same thing today ive got a old fixed dish at 28.2 and a motorised dish what ive done is set tuner as single @ 28.2 and tuner b as advanced diseqc 1.2 including 28.e.If iam just watching a channel on 28.e it automaticlly uses tuner a,but if iam recording a channel on 28.2 e it automaticlly switches to tuner b and movies my motorised dish to that satellite.If i want to record or watch anything on 28.e the reciver will pick tuner a the fixed dish so i can then move to any other satellite via the tuner b setup i hope this makes sense

Ive never used Diseqc before do i need to do anything other than change the settings over from usals ?

Your need to put in your longititute and latitute try dishpointer.com

You should need these values for USALS as well I think.
Is the motor picking up signals on other satellites currently.

yeah picks them all up fine

Then you need to change from simple to advanced mode and set each satellite that you can receive as I described earlier.
