Multi sat tuner boxes

Are the days numbered for multi tuner plug and play tuner boxes as was looking to see whats new and not seen anything for sat.
Still using xtrend 10000 3 sat and non connected cable tuner and got a spare sat tuner i might add to.
Still have xtrend 8000 with 2 sat and 1 dvbt2 tuner.
Maybe another 3 sat tuner to replace my solo2 and move that elsewhere:confused:

Apart from Vu and Xtrend, not many manufacturers made receivers with PNP tuners. DMM usually only had the one card slot anyway.

FBC tuners are the way to go now. This is because if you use them with Unicable 2 LNB, you can get usage of the 8 demodulators. Comments below are based on using Unicable, just deduct 6 from each FBC unit if not using unicable 2. FBC units have two physical connections, other 6 demodulators use internal loop through

8 demodulators using FBC
2 conventional on PNP slot

8 demodulators using FBC
2 on PNP slot

Vu Duo 4k

Some of other receivers come in two S2x tuners and one PNP slot for hybrid tuners
