Hello!
It's been a long time since I've been on the satellite forums, so I'm a bit out of touch. Sorry if this is something that has come up a lot before. I couldn't find a similar issue when searching.

I've got one of the first generation Vu+ Duo's. Purchased in Feb 2011 soon after they came on the market.

The famous problem capacitor has been replaced a number of times over the years. In the past few weeks it needed to be replaced again, but this time the regulator also needed replacing.

Since doing that it has stayed up and running for over 24 hours, but there is a problem with SD channels.

I had been using OpenPLi for years but decided to try out OpenVIX, so I'm not sure if the issue I'm experiencing is to do with something that I have set incorrectly in OpenVIX, or another hardware problem.

Installed image is 5.2.043.

HD channels play fine, but with SD channels there is a lot of glitching.

The weird thing is that those channels work fine whenever the menu is brought up to move between channels and the picture is displayed in the box on the side.

The signal strength seems to be fine, so I don't know what is going on.

See the recording below.

Any advice/tips are welcome.

Looks like an hardware issue. The Duo is ancient by todays standards, also struggles with the ViX image these days and is advisable to setup a swap file to give it a bit more hmph.

Your video settings are correct? Tried a different HDMI cable, also a different HDMI port on your TV? Tried a Scart lead out to rule out a faulty HDMI?

Thanks for replying Andy.

I tried an older version of OpenViX from February this year and had the same problem. Then flashed with OpenPLi 7.0 and the problem is gone.

It's a shame because I was liking what I was seeing with OpenViX. It has a lot of nice features.

I guess the old Duo is past its prime.
