Hello iam running a 2.5 inch hard drive via a caddy and a 5 volt power lead, iam getting freezing while viewing things ive recorded iam 99% sure its not at source just on playback. My question is would i get better playback if i bought a 7200 rpm hard drive or would it not make any difference or will i have to just live with it thanks
Try a recording from a FTA source and see how that plays back.

Try BBC one HD.
It was fine when i recorded a fta full hd for 10 mins, very strange as my sky card never has any glitches when iam watching it any other ideas
Did you initialize the HDD correctly? Menu > Setup > System > Harddisk > Initilize.
yes i think so as iam able to record with out any issue except what where talking about here, could it be the write speed to the hardrive?

Could be, or just could be the HDD. Do you have another USB HDD you could try? May try initilizing again.
Iam initilizing it now ive got a couple more of the same hard drive i will see how i get on thanks for your advice Sicillian.
I've manged to record 2 HD channels and watch a 3rd on the same trasponder. Using a HITACHI SATA 2.5" drive in a SATA to USB caddie.
Ok ive now swapped it over for an hitachi 7200 rpm 2.5 hard drive from my laptop recording and watching the same hd paid channel at the same time and now it seems perfect looks like the 5400 fujitsui hard drives where the problem, cheers for the advice
