I'm new to all this and have purchased a gigablue 4k receiver. Is there an app i can use to remotely manage recordings? Similar to the sky style app.

Enigma2 receivers are not designed with security in mind. If you get it wrong, your home network will be vulnerable.

There is a guide on adding SSH keys by Pembo to ensure a secure connection.

You can then use applications like dreamdroid to set timers or web interface.

Many thanks, I've succesfully followed Pembo's guide, although it did take some time and the restoration of a backup. Can anybody recommened an IOS app?
