Since you are in the uk (unless you're using a proxy, which it doesn't look like), then you would need to have a pretty big dish to get such a high signal...

I think the highest signal I've had from that sat on my 85cm dish in midlands was 55% odd...

What signal do you get on 28.2e?

I can only get 72% snr and this is the strongest ive ever seen it my bet his get a transponder off 28.2 or maybe 23.5

What size dish, what channel and where are you located?

Just checked, and I was getting 54% on MBC set of channels...

I have a 1.1 mtr dish in the midlands and have never been able to get 26, however I did not try too hard as I thought it was unavailable in the Uk.
Pooface as you are in the midlands, which satellites you can receive?

off top of head, 42e, 39e, 28e, 26e (only some transponders tho), 23e, 19e, 16e, 13e, 10e, 7e, 5e, 1w, 5w, 30w... Might be more, but they're the main ones I use...

Yeah, especially since they don't require big dishes most of those (afaik)...

26e is the only channel I have to mess about to get. when I set up a motorised dish i use USALs this gives me very good signal strengths on most satellites. eccept 26e it must not be on 26e as I have to go to disqc 1.2 and manually tune it in. but on 13e 28.2e 19e 39e 39w the dish is bob on if i manually twist the dish it drops off in any direction i push it. only 26e do i get a much better signal by moving the dish.

Ok guys found this on another site very very useful not sure if its on this forum??

How to Manually tune and store sat positions on VU+ Duo

If you have a VU+ Duo and your dish isn`t 100% alligned correctly you may need to store some positions manually. I have had to do this myself and thought the process was stupid and awkward to set up so when another member was experiancing the same problems I thought I would do a tutorial........

First of all you will need to go to tuner configuration

MENU - SETUP - SERVICE SEARCHING -TUNER CONFIGURATION

For now disable tuner 2 (set to not configured) and set tuner 1 to advanced.

next go to positioner setup

MENU - SETUP - SERVICE SEARCHING - POSITIONER SETUP

Select the tune tab and hit the red button, You will now be given a box where you can manually enter satellites and transponders of your choice., Here is a brief list of the strongest reference transponders for each sat.

Enter the details of the transponder of your choice and hit the ok button...

now, you should be back on the previous positioner setup screen, .... go down to the positioner fine movement tab and use the green and yellow buttons to manually step the dish east or west until you find the strongest point. (it helps here if you already have the dish reasonably close to the sat you are looking for)

When you have found the strongest position go to the store tab and pick a position to store that sat at. I usually go for the highest numbers so as not to upset other stored positions. then GREEN BUTTON TO STORE

Next go back to tuner configuration again

MENU - SETUP - SERVICE SEARCHING -TUNER CONFIGURATION

configuration mode - advanced
satellite - (choose the satellite you are looking to find)
lnb - lnb1
Ignore the next few tabs until you come to diseqc mode and select 1.2, (this should open up extra menus below)
next go to the bottom of the list and where it says "use usals for this satellite select NO
you will then be asked for the stored position to use. Put the stored position here that you used when setting up the positioner earler.... hit ok and it should save

Now you need to go to Manual scan

MENU - SETUP - SERVICE SEARCHING -MANUAL SCAN

in here select tuner A and for type of scan select single satellite (and choose the sat you are trying to find),.. OK

the box should now start scanning the satellite using the stored position rather than usals ;)

If the box says "nothing to scan, please set up your tuner configuration" you need to update your satellites xml file, You can create your own own here http://www.satellites-xml.eu/ or use this one that I created today for myself (3/11/2010, 30w-45e)
satellites.xml.zip
(Ftp it to ETC/TUXBOX replacing any existing existing satellites xml if it asks ;) )

Personally I do all my sats this way as I not a big fan of usals, its slower and more time consuming but i find manually tuning gets better results than depending on usals.

when you have finished remember to go back and re-enable the second tuner with the correct setup, if its a second cable of the same lnb etc select this option etc as selecting simple here with make it start using usals again for the second tuner

I have followed this guide and managed to pull ALL SATS in so maybe could be used a sticky?? but remember this aint my work
