View Full Version : [OS-mega] Easiest Update and restore 5.1 -> 5.2?
Hello,
I prefer the update 5.1 to 5.2 via image manager. But i am not sure what exactly will be saved in the backup file to restore and what do i have to install manually again?
I don't want to loose:
- satellite.xml
- favourites channel list/bouquets
- picons
- skin
- softcam + setting files
- selfmade bootlogo
- changed settings i. E. Hot keys
For me easiest way, install New image, restore settings and tadaaa... Is it AS easy AS it sounds?

Use Backup Manager and green button to save. You can restore from 5.1 Backup after installing 5.2. [emoji4]

When you go into ViX plugin/Backup settings press Menu, Yellow button check that your files are selected.
If not skip down the directories, Yellow button (Select) and then Green (Save)
Of that list, picons should be on usb, softcam etc should be saved by settings backup, but your selfmade bootlog you will probably have to Select and save.
Apart from that, it is very easy.

I know that backup function, but WHAT files/settings are all in that backup included and which not?

look at the settings file in /etc/enigma2 It will list all the backed up files.
You have not mentioned where you saved your modified files.

This is what backup Manager does for me
config.backupmanager.backupdirs=[
'/etc/enigma2/',
'/etc/CCcam.cfg',
'/etc/auto.network',
'/etc/etc/shadow',
'/etc/fstab',
'/etc/hostname',
'/etc/inadyn.conf',
'/etc/network/interfaces',
'/etc/passwd',
'/etc/resolv.conf',
'/etc/samba',
'/etc/shadow',
'/etc/tuxbox/config/',
'/etc/ushare.conf',
'/etc/wpa_supplicant.conf',
'/opt',
'/usr/crossepg/crossepg.config',
'/usr/crossepg/providers',
'/usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/SystemPlugins/AutoBouquetsMaker/custom/cable_uk_virgin_CustomMix.xml',
'/usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/SystemPlugins/AutoBouquetsMaker/custom/sat_282_sky_uk_CustomMix.xml'
'/usr/script',
'/usr/softcams/',
'/usr/sundtek',
]
OK, THX so far , i will have a look to it on weekend.
Put your bootlogo in /etc/enigma2/, it'll always get backed up and overrides the default logo.
