Hi
Can I put movies and music etc on a USB HDD and then play with Vuduo ?
If so how,do I have to format it ? then do I play with media player ?
Im thinking this will be easier than streaming from PC as I can download straight onto usb hdd then plug into Vuduo.
thanks

Try and you will find out. What file format is the drive formatted in? NTFS or FAT32. I'm pretty sure you can. Plug it into USB, press Menu > Media Player and select media, prob be under USB. Cant remember and i'm at work atm. Perhaps Monty can try in his new box :D

Hey there.
So far I have tested with a 12 gig usb hard drive. Its the size of a large USB mem stick but it's a mini hard drive.
Formatted FAT32 with 1x AVI file and 1x MKV loaded.
USB is auto detected when plugged in and it reports 1 movie found.
It can on only see the AVI file, no sign of the MKV.

Have you tried opening Media Player, then navigating to the USB stick?

I did and MP couldn't see the usb hard drive.
I'm formatting it again in my XP PC, Vista annoys me :)

Back again.
Formatted USB drive FAT32 in XP this time, so much quicker.
Same 2 files on and media player can now see the drive and play both files.

Added.
Have also formatted in NTFS now. It recognises and again both files were playable

In this last test, I used an 80 GB laptop drive in a host powered external case.
Formatted NTFS and with 2 files loaded. 1x AVI and 1x MKV.
On detection the VU+ reports "No displayable files on this media found!", but media player sees and plays both files.
