View Full Version : Motorised / fixed combo upgrade
I currently have a fixed ex Sky dish and a motorised dish connected to a Vu+Solo 4k. The wife mentioned today how tatty the Sky dish looks, it's been up 20+ years and works so doesn't bother me but she'd like it replacing with a nice new one. So while replacing the dish I think it would make sense to replace the LNB with a unicable one. Am I right in thinking I don't need to change the coax to enjoy the unicable features?
Also is changing the dish a straightforward DIY job?
TIA
Thats correct, standard coax is fine.
65cm mesh dish is a good alternative to a sky dish: https://www.world-of-satellite.co.uk/satellite-and-terrestrial/Satallite-Dishes/Technomate-Satellite-Dishes/Technomate-60cm-Mesh-Satellite-Dish-Kit

You mentioned motorised dish, please read this if you have not done so already.

Have a motor to one connection and the unicable to the other is the best way. Does not matter which way round.
