Hi All

Looking to upgrade my vu+ duo2 to another box which is capable of playing iptv / hvec and hopefully using the openvix gui, anyone have any recommendations.
Thanks

I would look at the Mut@nt HD51.
Also take a look at the new Octagon SF8008 which looks really really promising. [emoji4]

Very promising, I'm retiring my Nvidia Shield and VU+ Uno 4k SE :D

looks great, would i still be able to use the same plugins that i have currently have setup on my vu+? Is openvix available for this yet?
Main question will it be the same setup as the vu+ using openivx?
Thanks

An OpenViX image will be available once Devs are happy with everything and release it. No time frame as yet, but shouldn’t be too long I imagine.
Yeah plugins will be available just like the Vu+, so you should be good to go! [emoji4]

Thanks for the Help......
Is there any difference between sf4008 and sf8008 which would be the better model to go for?
Thanks Again.

current vu+ has internal hard drive 2 dvb inputs for recording would like the same kind of setup.
looking at google the specs are the same apart from the 4008 can have internal hd and extra dvb.
Just checking that im not missing major difference between the two.
Thanks

sf8008 has fixed DVB-S2X & DVB-C/T2 tuners, sf4008 has more choice.

Kodi is Hardware as apposed to Software based. Stalker plugin for IPTV, can’t confirm if Stalker is available for SF4008.
You are limited to what you can get with a budget of £200.

sorry to sound like a novice will this allow me then to play hvec films from my home collection / Iptv or does it only play hvec through the dvb?
Thanks

Won't be long, we're just working on one last thing before release.

This look a nice box. Have had the old faithful solo2 running as main box since it was launched but thinking this would be a good replacement with the bosses comments re retiring his nvidia shield. Love my shield for retro gaming so will keep it for that. Thanks for the useful info in the thread

All depends what you use your shield for, I only is for kodi and plex that I now use through the Kodi plugin in the SF8008. I've got the Kodi plex addon installed.

Thanks for that, yeah I run Kodi and my plex server on the shield too.Not a big server ,around 100 movies and about 100 music albums and works well. Used the solo2 on fixed dish at 28.2 and second input for motorised dish but use that very infrequently now with the availability of iptv. Could use the octagons combi tuner for terrestrial and the satellite for 28.2 and use it for kodi with the plex plugin for kodi too.

More or less how mine is being used.
