Replacement FDP

So I turn my 8500 on the the front panel dimmed to almost nothing now it is completely blank. I was wondering if anyone knows if you can get a replacement screen (or knows a fix)? as the box is out of warranty figured it would be cheaper to replace it myself. Other than the screen everything else appears to be working fine

Not really to be honest it just bugs me and figured it would be pretty easy to replace if the screens were available. Given that they are a German company rather than spend hours on google translate I thought I'd ask on here and save some time

Xtrend were very good and they had a centre in germany that would repair such issues, but Xtrend changed ownership, so I doubt if they will replace these parts.

I assume (naively) that the default settings have not been changed? This is not only a dimmable LCD but can be powered off (so would be dark)
If nothing else would be worth powering on/off/on using the settings

Nope the screen came on as normal then dimmed flashed back to normal dimmed again and then went completely black I've been through all the settings and it stays black guessing the LCD has died. I'll just have to live with it still I suppose it is an excuse to get a new shiny box :)
