Hi,

For about a month i have been having issues with a lot of Freesat channels. The channels i'm having trouble with are pretty much every channel except the BBCs.

The channels can work fine and then i get a tune failed with 0% SNR & 0% AGC and they may not come back for hours or minutes. Sometimes when watching a non BBC channel it can be glitchy and if i check the SNR and AGC for the channel i get 0% SNR and AGC one second and the next 100% SNR and 86% AGC.

on the BBC channels i get 100% SNR and about 86% AGC all the time.

what i have tried so far:
tightened all the bolts on the sat.
i tried a scan with ABM but get the error "cannot read data"
Did a re-flash with newest version of openvix at the time

in signal finder i get 100% SNR and 86% AGC when the channels are clearing and nothing when the channels are not.

this is happening on a VU Solo2 with openvix 5.1 027

another VU Solo2 i look after is also having the same problem the owner is telling me, that is running openvix 5.0

Both sats are standard sky dishes

anyone have any suggestions/advice

It is more than likely an LNB issue. Some quad LNBs misbehave when two receivers are connected and in use.

Can you try the following:
Clear your channel data (init 4, wait 10s, delete lamedb, restart) and then scan 28.2. Do not use ABM. Do you get 950+ channels?

neither LNBs are connected to 2 recievers but as both are connected to Solo 2's 2 connections to the LNB are used. not sure of my mates LNB but mine is a quad.

i'll try your recommendation tomorrow and let you know

No issues here with a Solo 2 running 5.1.027 - my guess would be either dish alignment or the lnb.

I was thinking the same until my mate said he had the same problem with his. he is on vix 5.0 so definitly not a image issue.

whas hoping it was a config issue as his box is running a backup image from my receiver. ill find out more when i do as Abu suggested.

Sorry about the late reply, trying to find an hour when no one is using the TV is tough.

432 channels when i run an automatic scan after following @abu baniaz instructions.

Anyone have any ideas?

You are getting half the channels.

The force legacy option should be no, but not too important.

Only thing I can think off is that there is a setting value in your backup that should no longer be applied. We had this issue with the change in drivers for solo 4k and turn burst option. If you are willing...

Create and save your settings backup
Flash new image,
Ddo not restore plugins or settings,
Install xmlupdate from system plugins
Update xml file and restart
Scan 28.2 and see how many channels you receive.

If you don't get 900+ channels after flashing a new image and not restoring, it ill be a hardware issue.

If you get the 900+ channels, we can deduce issue is with the settings. Compare the the two settings files and import values that we want/identify errant setting.

Suggest that it might be a good idea to establish if all the channels you have are the same polarization, If so it would imply that for some reason polarization is not being switched in the LNB.

I tried what you suggested @abu baniaz, after flashing a clean flash and after installing and running xmlupdate. I got 830 channels when i ran an automatic scan.

after greping thru the lamdb i noticed that the 5star and other 5 channels like 5 spike didn't get found.

What is the easiest way to find out if the channels i have are on the same polarization like @cachaciero suggested and when he says polarization I'm assuming he means V(vertical) or H(Horizontal).

Change to the regular skin, it will show you. You can also attach your lamedb file here. There should be a script that we can operate on it.

Just checked a couple of channels and there seems to be channels working on different polarizations but as i previously stated it is intermittent so they may just stop working all of a sudden.

here (http://files.alan-kelly.ie/lamedb) is the lamdb.

thanks for the help. I guess it must be hardware related.
ill have to check out my mates box to confirm he is having the same issue.

I have just scanned. There were 977 services.

Don't exclude cable damage in your elimination process.
