View Full Version : Hardware transcoding of 2 channels simultaneously?

Hi,

I am new to the forum. I searched on many places, but have not found a straight answer to this question.

I have a VU+ Duo2 with quad DVB-S2 tuners, which does hardware transcoding. I use the OpenVIX image on it, and in the transcoding setting, there is setting for 2 transcodings (channels?).
Does this mean, that the receiver can transcode two different channels at the same time? If yes, how can you achieve that?
I only managed to get it running with one channel, on the default port 8002. Is there a way to add a second port to it?

Any help would be appreciated!

Hi,
I am not sure but I think it worked with 2 different clients. Try PC and smart phone/tablet.

Hi,

I have tried that, but it only allows one client to be connected at the time. It disconnects the first client as soon as the second one connects to it..

Hi,
I just looked at a comparison table of the different VU models and it seems that only the Ultimo4K is able to transcode 2 streams at the same time.

So, I guess the cheapest receiver which can do hardware transcoding would be the Uno 4K?

No, if you want 2x hardware transcoding you need the Vu+ Ultimo 4K.

Hi,
seems so. The Zero 4K cannot transcode.
