Have you tried a complete fresh flash and new setup with no restore of settings?

I've updated GB UHD Ultra UE 4K today with no issues and a number of other receivers.

Mine is the same after a software update. I watched a recording and on exit, the mini tv was working but the skin was black with no menu.
Could still see the menu on the receiver display though. I'll try one of the default skins.

Same problem here. Gigablue Quad Plus with 4 x DVB-S tuners.

Problem appeared for me when performing online update from 5.1.021 to 5.1.027. Tried a flash with 5.1.027 with settings and also flash of 5.1.027 without settings – all give same results of black video image with sound. Ie. Menus and other good stuff all visible but when trying to watch either a pre-recorded programme or live dvb-s then screen (or preview) is black but with sound.

My results are consistent with OP that reports this happening at 5.1.024.

Any suggestions how to resolve this most gratefully received.

Can GB quad plus owners please re-confirm issue starts with 5.1 024. You can do this by flashing 5.1 022 (Don't worry about 5.1 023). Do not install anything that depends on Enigma2, this includes things like ABM. Doing so will cause Enigma2 to update which messes up the test.

This is will help track issue down.

Also, what chipset/CPU does it use?

Hi!

Last version that had video for my Gigablue Quad Plus was OpenViX 5.1.022 (2018-03-23).
Any newer version after that has no video, not even old recordings.

Cheers

@abu: Using available images, problem does appear between 5.1.022 and 5.1.024. My video settings 1080p 50Hz but didn't seem to make any difference changing these before I started flashing (did that kind of thing before posting). My Gigablue Quad Plus reports chipset as BCM7356.

For people with the issues, which TV model are you using? Are you able to test with another TV?

Do you have a problem with TeamBlue or OpenATV images newer than the driver dates?

Hi again!

Tried today openatv, and the same problem: no video. When I returned back to openvix 5.1.022 everything is ok again...
The problem is the same for me with any openvix image >5.1.022.
The same with my gigablue quad+.

maybe its a driver issue

Hi!
Tried today 5.1.031 but with the same result (quad). Menus are fine and audio but with No video. Tried it in on my Samsung UE65MU6195 and on a HPZR22W. Went back to 5.1.022 and everithing is fine again. Driver problems?

Have these video driver issues been resolved as I just upgraded to the latest Open Vix 5.1.0.32 today on a Gigablue quad with BCM7356 chipset. I have tried in on Lg and Hisense UHD tv with the same results....sound and menu but no picture. When I revert back to 5.1.0.22 all is fine

Like with any driver issues, you will need to contact them directly. The more that do, a quicker response you will get, hopefully.

OK Thanks for the reply. I thought posting in the relevant Vix forum would produce a response from the development team or is there a different approach ?

Andy_Hazza

No, drivers are purely down to the manufacturer of the receiver. I would email them directly and tell them your issues and hopefully they will respond.

Same here....just received my new GigaBlue UHD QUAD 4K yesterday. I updated to 5.1.031 and you get the black screen but are able to see menus. Revert to 5.1.022 and everything ok. I have a samsung OLED55E6V. I also have issues with HDMI CEC, with my old Technomate TM-NANO-3T Combo I could set it to go to standby when switching off the TV, applying the same settings using the Gigablue this does not happen.

Samsung don‘t make oled tv‘s I assume you mean LG???
I have giga 4K‘s (both ue & quad) and have none of these issues, so you need to play with the settings on both receiver and TV. If you are able to see menus on teh TV then try changing some of the Video settings and see what happens.
I assume you are directly connected to the TV???????
There was a driver change in April but nobody over here (where the majority of the giga‘s are installed) is screaming about any issues.

Samsung don’t do an OLED tv. Anyhow what are your display setting on your receiver? Are you using 1080 or 2160? Are you using Multi for Refresh rate?

Does it work when set to Multi “Refresh Rate”?

Does it work if you swap from 2160 to 1080?

Have same issue -....... so don‘t think its drivers
Had to change from 2160 when lightning wiped my gear in June and was working then so need to look at this.

twol
27-07-18, 20:15
So eventually realised that the Onkyo was the old box without 2160p60 support (due to lightning killing my previous amp)
So connected sat receiver direct to TV monitor
I can run with ViX, Pli and ATV to my 2160 monitor without issues - so not likely a driver issue.
You need to check your hdmi cable as it may be the limitation - while testing I used an old hdmi cable (I should bin it but it is a very long cable and convenient) that would only let me connect at 2160 30(which you can do in OpenPli), but once I changed the cable to a newer edition everything was fine.

I just remembered when I was setting up the box I had it connected to my samsung 22" (it was easier to do it that way) and it was set at 1080p when the screen went black I connected to my LG OLED with the same results. With reading the forums I didn't try to set it to 2160p. So I flashed it back to 5.1.022. I've now just gone back to 5.1.0.32 with it set at 2160p with no problems and the HDMI CEC now works, when switching off the TV it puts the receiver in standby and also the picons on front display are showing the right colours.

Always nice when someone responds after fixing an issue .... enjoy both receiver and TV!

Also remember this receiver supports multiboot, so you can flash to a new image (in a different slot), restore backup settings and check everything is OK before forgetting about the previous „old“ image

Can you help me please just purchased Gigablue Quad HD with OpenATV image & Wooshbuild, getting Audio but Black Screen can see Channels & Menu, Tried on different TV SAMSUNG working,
Tried changing HDMI leads, Had TV engineer out he just checked HD leads and ordered new panel for Samsung One Connect Box. Then I tried VU+ that works okay.
So it must be problem with Gigablue could it be OpenATV image or settings coming from box?
Any help appreciated my TV is Samsung EU55JS9000 with one connect box

Perhaps you should talk to ATV or Whoosh??!
Did you try the Samsung change in post #39??
So what AV settings are you using? Whats the VU+ box? is it using same settings?
Information is a big help!

You can control the settings on the box using the remote on OpenWebIf. You will have to find IP address from router.

Tried to change TV settings without success so rang Samsung support they have told me how to activate UHD (will try this evening) in the meantime I tried to flash with Vix Image from usb without success (think it didn't like the usb I was using) So I flashed the box with another OpenATV image that was available through box itself, I didn't get chance to try it last night as had to scan all sats again. Will try all of these options tonight. Thank you for info about Openwebif never used it but it looks a useful tool. I'm really hoping that the UHD settings will do the trick.

All good, flashed with new OpenATV image changed settings on TV to UHD, restarted Gigablue now perfect. Not sure if it was combination of both or just TV settings. But I'm leaving well alone.
Thanks for everyones input
Happy Viewing

The first thing you should do is enable HDMI UHD Color.

Navigate to Settings, and then select General > External Device Manager. Scroll to and select HDMI UHD Color.

Activate HDMI UHD Color for the HDMI port your system is connected to.
