Which Inverto Unicable LNB?

Hello.

I am after a Unicable LNB and have decided to go with Inverto.

The problem is that there are a number of options with very similar model numbers on Amazon:

What difference is there, if any, and what should I go for?

I am going to be using the LNB with a Digibit R1 SAT-IP Server.

Unicable 1 LNBs usually come in maximum of 4 SCR. Technically they are capable of more.

Unicable 2 LNBs usually come in 24 or 32 SCR. They are technically capable of more.

Note about Unicable LNB:
If you have a 4 SCR LNB, you can use a maximum 4 frequencies across all tuners/devices. Irrespective of what type of tuners you have.

Note about FBC tuners (Separate matter):
Do not assume FBC and Unicable are linked. They are two different technologies but can be used together.

An FBC tuner (card or soldered) has two physical connections. You can set 8 tuners, 6 of them are dependent on what is connected to the connection/s.


Note: Using two different technologies together
If you have an FBC tuner, you can only set 4 tuners with a unicable 1 LNB. The price difference between unicable 1 and unicable 2 is not large.

It is therefore a waste of time/money getting a unicable 1 LNB

Yes, most of them are. Best to search the model/product number and check specifications.



Which one is the one to buy?
Pick what works for your requirements. What do you need it for?

Do you need to use a device that cannot handle unicable/SCR such as built in tuners on TV?
This dictates whether you get a device with non-SCR output

How many tuners (in total, across all the devices) will be accessing the dish?
This dictates how many channels/SCR your device needs

Also bear in mind that unicable switches are available. Some newer ones will use a quad LNB, others will only take a quattro LNB.

There are also devices that are SkyQ compatible.

In my experience, the biggest hurdle on the forums that prevent people understanding Unicable LNBs is that they assume they are linked to FBC tuners. So people without FBC tuners never understand that they can use these, so prices stay high.

Further to this subject:- I am using Unicable with VU+ solo 4K and am very pleased with it. I was considering buying a new TV with built-in Sat tuner but it does not appear to be possible to configure SCR in the setup menu of the main stream manufacturers (Sony, Samsung etc). Am I correct in thinking that I will always require a, compatible. STB to utilise Unicable?

There are unicable lnbs with legacy ports for use with devices that do not support SCR.

There are unicable/2 switches that also support non-scr devices.
