Hi, I have problem with my Tiviar Alpfa+ because it`s getting very varm. The internal 2 pin fan have just now very low speed and stops in standby mode speed and therefor I need some plugin like Fancontrol2 or simular where I can change speed etc. I have not found anything about fancontrol inside OpenViX meny and not either in plugin download. I am using OpenViX latest image. Any solution about this?

Most receivers get warm, the Alpha+ is no difference in heat to Duo, Duo2 etc... The temp of the Alpha+ is fine and nothing to worry about.

But is it possibly to install any fancontrol or do OpenVix have it somewhere in the meny?

It does not need extra control, the drivers control it. Hence why goes off in standby, but I'll look into it.

Glad that you look in to it. Everyone who has Tiviar Alpfa Plus knows about the heating problem. When it was Fortis original FW (not Enigma E2) in first beginning the fan had much higher speed but some customer thought it was to noicy because the fan was also active in standby mode but the box was much cooler inside. After the latest (last) Fortis FW update suddenly they decreased the speed and stop it in standby mode and after that was Tiviar Alpfa Plus very hot especially when I have 2GB HDD.

:trustme: i've measured temps with an infra red thermometer, temps are fine for this box. There are much warmer boxes out there that are fanless and some others with fans have a much warmer operating temp than the Alpha+. It does not have a heating problem with e2 images.

Have you measured temps over the processor who has a very small aluminium cooler? When I had Fortis FW (the last one) I measured then temp over processor about 62+ C. My feeling now is is that fan has lower speed but it maybe be my imagination. Is something now different about heating with OpenViX compared to Fortis FW? Is something controlling the temp inside? How to get fan active in standby mode?

Nothing wrong with 62deg when you where using the closed source firmware  There's e2 boxes out there that are fanless operating at 72 deg. Last time measured with e2 was mid 40's.

Ok I wait and study my two boxes and check temp then and then. But still I would be very happy and safe if fan was active in standby mode.

Why would you want to waste electric?

Maybe "Eco Power Mode" is an option?

To be safe about processor in long terms and it`s a low cost.

Maybe a good idea!
