Using backup settings from one box to setup another

Im guessing the answer to my question is YES but just need to confirm.

I have an edision OS mega and i'm going to help a friend set up his Formular box tomorrow.
Both box are same tuner setup, 2 x DVB-S2 and 1x DVB-C/T2.

Can i use a backed up settings from my Edision OS MEGA to setup this Formular please?

It depends by what you mean by "settings"

A. File called "settings"
B. Settings backup. This is a combination of several files.

A. Yes, no problem
B. Yes, you will however have to modify the hostname and a few receiver specific items after.

It's usually in a folder named backup
