It is but it appears there arnt any for sale anymore on the sponsors site. Unless the et8500 tuner will fit the 8000.

This is what you want : https://www.amazon.co.uk/Xtrend-DVB-C-Hybrid-Tuner-10000/dp/B00K5JAWKE

But none available on amazon either. There are other places you can get them from but i dont want to link them on here, just google et8000 cable tuner.

Well, they are still available, so Yes its possible... but you may have to look outside UK. ET8000/10000 use the same tuner ET7500/ET8500 are different.

Thanks for the replies. twol would you have a link where they are available from? I'm thinking now it's a DVB-T tuner I really need. Would they be available for my ET-8000? Thanks for all the help.

For DVB-T you can use a USB RTL-SDR dongle. Very cheap on fleabay etc.

If it comes from Germany (likely) then you are lookingat 44 Euro plus postage (cable or C/T), so ronand may have the best answer:). ..... if you really need to google then just add preis to the search and it should give the German outfits.

One last question. Is there a DVB-T Tuner made to fit into the Xtrend ET-9500? Thanks

A DVB-C/T2 tuner gives you either C (Cable) or T2 and T (Terrestrial).

I don't think they did one just for T.

Ok. It's becoming clearer now. So the question is will the Xtrend ET-8500 DVB-C/T2 tuner fit the ET-9500? As always thanks for the help.

Not to me, you started asking about an et8000 and now it's an et9500.

Sorry for the confusion. I have two Xtrend receivers. An ET-8000 and an ET-9500. I was just wondering if the DVB-C/T2 tuner for the ET-8500 doesn't work in the ET-8000 would it work in the ET-9500? I'm guessing no. I have now ordered the proper tuner for the ET-8000 from Germany. So thanks for all the help today guys...

Hi guys, the Xtrend DVB-C/T2 Hybrid tuner has landed. But when I plug it in it comes up as TDA10024 (DVB-C). How do I switch it to DVB-T/T2? Thanks

Got to tuner config menu. Tuner setup. Highlight your tuner and press ok. Tuner type press right or left to select.

Hi, thanks for the reply.
When I go into tuner settings and press left or right to select, I have no other option.Just tuner C
I think I have been sent the wrong tuner.
Is there anyway to check to make sure?
Cheers

When you go into tuner config/tuner setup it will say on the second line Switchable tuner types(DVB-T2,DVB-C)

Hi, no. When I go to tuner config/tuner setup the line says DVB-C. I have been doing a little investigating and it seems tuner TDA10024 is a DVB-C tuner only.

Most of the German dealers are pretty good about solving issues ... but always important to double check what you are ordering.

Hi twol, yeah if I am reading the last email I received from the supplier correctly I think they have sent a replacement.
Or at least I hope so. It was a bit short and a little vague.
Yeah I made sure I ordered the DVB-C/T2 tuner. I have the docket to prove that.
Hopefully it will get sorted soon.
Thanks

Hi guys, So i bought this dongle https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/USB-DVB-T2-Tuner-Enigma2-PC/182632877162?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649
Then I install the dvb-usb-rtl2832 (1.0-r3) driver on the Technomate nano 2 super.
Turned the box off, plugged in the usb stick with cable connected.
Rebooted the box but the usb tuner doesn't show up.
Any ideas where I'm going wrong?
Thanks

ronand

I normally plug the device in before installing the drivers and then reboot. Have you confirmed it actually works (on a pc?). It doesn't say in the listing that it is an RTL2832 - you should contact the seller for support as you you have paid 4-5 times the price for it.

Thanks for the reply ronand.
I thought I needed this type to work with linux satellite box.
I'll have to get back to the supplier.
It's strange because it works on my Xtrend et8000 but not on my Technomate nano 2 super...
