Vu+ duo networking help.

I have a vu+ duo running dream elite and I am a complete newbe who is having issues with setting up my box for networking with cccam. I have tried several of the guides on several sites but I am lost.
I have set up my vu+ and changed the http port to something other than 80.
I have registered a dns address and I have port forwarded my router to my dreambox but I cannot connect to my vu+ box remotely.
Can anyone please help me with an idiots guide or a detailed step by step guide to help

Have you set a password in telnet if not open a telnet session with DCC the type passwd this will require a new password to be entered type in new password (it seems like nothing is going on but it is) press enter repeat your password press enter again Done

Problem could be any number of reasons:

Also, can you ping your box?
