I am sure it‘s been said, but better to turn off overscan on the TV
..... if it has the feature.:)
..... if it has the feature.:)
... thats absolutely true, but it‘s surprising how many times people find it (or have it found for them) when the TV model is mentioned

OK - I'll bite - what is Over scan - what does it do?
Many modern TV's, have options to ensure the transmitted picture fills the whole screen, so usually there is a picture option that allows you for some sources like an E2 receiver to turn off the overscan (often "just fit") and amazingly you don't have to fiddle with the E2 wizard and the picture fits the TV's screen....... Samsung TV's are typical for setting the default to overscan, which means that you lose a section of the picture top/bottom and sides.
Yep. Too many don't bother setting up their equipment properly. Imagine the amount of people watching bluray with 10% of the picture cut off. It pays to read the small print in the tv manual.
Hi,
the companies which sell TVs do nothing to enlighten the user as evrey company has its own name for this more or less stupid overscan. You have to go to all screen formats like 16:9 and widescreen and read the comments on screen or in the manual.
