Hi

A bit of background info: I have a Linksys router, a Vodafone router and an extender linked to the vodafone router,

I'm trying to determine which which one of the above would give me the best wireless connection but I'm having trouble swapping from my original setup (linksys), I've tried the network wizard, I've tried the "connect" option, is there a way to delete all existing network connections and start again?

Happy Christmas to all

Tom.

Have you used the scan wireless network option to pick up your other router.

Hi Ashley69

Yes, but it doesn't join the other router

Did you change the encryption to wpa wpa2 and input your wireless password.

Hate to admit it, but I had a worse and (very expensive) mess than you in trying to provide a network over 3 levels.
In the end I found ( through a chance google link) Ubiquiti Networks and now have a seamless connection across lan & WiFi through the 3 levels.

I (and especially my wife) couldn‘t be happier with the setup ... just wish I had found them years ago.

All 3 have the same encryption and password

So
1. You scan wireless network.
2. It picks up your Vodafone WiFi name
3. You chose this (pressok)to connect to it.
4. Change use interface to yes.
5. Change encryption to wpa or wpa2
6. Input encryption key.
Press ok to activate settings.
Is this what you have done.

Thanks for your help

Yes. I do all the above, is it possible to ftp into the box and remove the current settings

So when you have done the above do you get the message that the network is activated. Once it activates it will de-activate you previous connection.

Yes, I receive the first message but it does not seem to deactivate the original connection

Just changed the DHCP to no, saved the settings and then changed the DHCP back to yes and it seems to have worked

Thanks you very much for your help
