If you installed and configured samba hdd is public in local network.
If you installed and configured nfs-server hdd is public in local network.

I am trying to see the hard drive in the ET8500 on separate kodi machine.

The hard drive is setup for the Enigma 2 (ET8500) machine and recordings time shift all work fine. But no I have not installed Samba or NFS are these found under plugins extensions?
