Hi,

recently had a PAT issue with some channels so decided to rescan ABM however keep getting 'failed to tune virgin UK on Tuner B please make sure tuner is configured correctly.'

I know the tuner is configured correctly , even rolled back to known working image etc etc. tuners configured to 00000 with virgin uk all systems and Provider ID in ABM is 00016

Ive updated to latest OpenVix and updated to ABM 2.8 with NET ID 00016 warwick

I can do a manual scan and get all my channels inc HD however just can't get the ABM to scan

as temporary fix I have manually created my own bouquets using dreamboxEDIT however really would like to get ABM working how it should.

has anyone else had issues with NET ID 00016 recently ?

here is my lamedb and lamedb5 files for anyone to see if they can tell me whats wrong?

thanks
Paul.

The pure areas are self-contained, so their details can only be obtained if you are in the area. We estimated a lot of the frequencies and mainly used 643000, 64 QAM.and 6887 symbol rate. It appears some of the frequencies are being freed up, this leads to ABM being unable to tune. The data is actually on all active frequencies.

Very rare getting someone to upload the required details in the first post. Thank you. I shall update the frequency. Update your provider config in the ABM menu and then try again. If it does not work, try the following frequencies

379000
387000
395000
371000

Give regards to Desmond, Matthew and the rest of the gang

Thankyou all concerned ! what a great community this is !!!

let me know when to try again and will feed the results back to you.

regarding trying other frequencies, how do I do that ? apologies I'm fairly new to this but am a quick learner :)

Just an UPDATE

I downloaded the new config file and ABM now scans correctly without any errors.

Thank you so much to all concerned who fixed this for me !!! AMAZING

Would it be possible to add a "backup transponder", say 155Mhz 6952, for when the main preset transponder fails?

I'm not a programmer, so maybe it's not possible but it would help with many on these frequency moves. The frequencies around 155Mhz do seem to be active in most if not all areas and the lower frequency does suffer less attenuation in poor connections.

ABM only tunes to one frequency per area.

ABM only tunes to one frequency per area.

I know, that's why I was asking if it could be modified to tune to a backup if the main wasn't active.

Just update your config files in the ABM menu. The option is called "Update config file"

Did you rescan ABM after Updating Config Files via the “Update Config File” option?

nothing has changed for 0018 in config files, so updating wont improve things.

Clear the services, scan cable manually, restart, attach both lamedb files.

Excuse my ignorance, How do I clear services I did try doing an automatic scan which found no channels. When doing a manual scan do I do a complete scan Thanks

channel up, green (satellites), highlight cable, menu, remove cable services, confirm restart.

in tuner configuration, set to UK, virgin pure areas.

in scan options, yes, do a complete scan.

Been googling my issue and its got me to this thread, having similar issues here on netID 18, a few channels failed to tune, updated cfg files in ABM and just says - 'tuning failed. unable to lock onto frequency'.

Was all working OK until today, box is a Vu Duo 2 running Openvix 50029 and ABM 2.8

Any help is appreciated

If we can get a workable lamedb file, it will be done.

Is there a network outage. This may explain no channels being found.

VM service status for my area is fine, I've only come across maybe half a dozen non working channels so far, rest are all ok

We need a lamedb files only containing working channels. Instructions in post 12/15.

I am doing that now 50% complete still not found any channels so if nothing found I guess I will have lost all my cable channels Doh!

It will be a signal/cabling/splitter issue if you cannot find any channels.

ABM still not working, scanned in 606 channels and quickly looking at BBC HD and ITV HD they now work, frequency has changed from before when it didn't work from 635hz to 387hz.

abu baniaz
02-11-17, 22:08
Why would you expect ABM to work? Nothing had changed in ABM.

I have just updated the file on GitHub. Update config file and then try ABM again.

Thanks for that, updated the cfg and its scanning 399 channels which is great, but call me a bit thick for the life of me I can't seem to arrange the bouquet other than alphabetical, I had it in sections before ie movies, sports etc, I haven't adjusted any other settings and the hide sections in ABM has nothing checked, any ideas?

emporer

Think I've got it sorted now, deleted the bouquet and rescanned and seems ok. Much appreciated.

Can someone in a pure area that has not yet been affected check if they get signal on the freqencies listed in post 33 please? Use signal finder.

Getting a signal in 00008, all using 6887/256QAM. I believe previously all 6887 were 64 QAM, 643 Mhz does remain at 64 QAM

Abu lamedb files attached as requested hope this is what you are after

abu baniaz

We have pre-emptively moved the pure areas that were on 643000 to 387000. If updating the config file doe snot resolve the locking error, please perform a conventional scan (don't use ABM) and attach the lamedb files.

The commit has been reversed.

lincsat
05-11-17, 13:28
You have moved the frequency but not changed the QAM M8, ABM scans now fail in 00008 unless the modulation is changed to 5

EDIT: Added newly scanned lamedb

abu baniaz
05-11-17, 15:45
I have reverted the last commit.

We use QAM 64 (modulation 3) for ABM cable. Your current frequencies with QAM64 are

<transponder frequency="619000" symbol_rate="6887000" fec_inner="3" modulation="3"/>
<transponder frequency="627000" symbol_rate="6887000" fec_inner="3" modulation="3"/>
<transponder frequency="635000" symbol_rate="6887000" fec_inner="3" modulation="3"/>
<transponder frequency="643000" symbol_rate="6887000" fec_inner="3" modulation="3"/>

People in areas that change will have to provide lamedb files after perform a non-ABM scan.

lincsat
05-11-17, 17:56
I suspect that eventually all transponders will use QAM256 M8, ABM runs fine on a QAM256 transponder, you may want to consider using that.

abu baniaz
05-11-17, 18:14
All areas have both, they always have.

If they were going to get rid of them, they would have done so in the changes. The recent changes seem to be more of a symbol rate change.

The data transmissions are on 64Qam. If you inspect the lamedb5, this will be more apparent as you can see the device updates.

We will not be changing it.

They always have had both - so far!

I suspect they will change eventually to cram in more data per transponder. I can confirm that ABM works fine on a 256QAM transponder and data is present on the 256QAM transponders.

I'm not telling you to use a 256QAM transponder, just suggesting as they are less likely to change again. I have updated the custom file I use

The frequencies on qam64 in your lamedb were
339000
347000
355000
363000

I have used 339000
