I've just downloaded and installed .028 and finally the correct RAM is reported.
However this is now split to create a swap file! I'm unable to disable swap in the vix menu
That then increases the likelihood of requiring the swap file which will just waste CPU cycles.
Swap should be away from RAM, am I missing something here?

Yes, I've been around os tuning for a long time (s/360 anyone?)

Thanks

The swap is created for Kodi and should be on the emmc card not flash memory (thats how its done for the HD51 and certain other arm receivers that have a large emmc), but I must admit I cannot see the swap creation in the build files for the emmc.... will check again later

You youngster S/360 ! ..... I started machine language programming on punched cards & paper tape!!

Etc/fstab should show the swap file and boot file, and I would expect both to be dev/mmcblk something!

You youngster S/360 ! ..... I started machine language programming on punched cards & paper tape!!My employer had a 360 -20. When it was running a program you could press stop, take the disks off and power it down. You could then put the disks back on, power it up and press start. It would just carry on what it was doing. That was core memory for you.
