Hi all.
I have a solo 2 running enigma 2.
I was wondering if any of you use (or is it possible to use your solo 2) as a media database.
In simple terms I would like to rip some of my kids DVD to put on to the box so they have easy access them easily.
I looked at dream plex which looks great but dont have a PC that is continually running to setup this.
any other options?
regards jon.

You can copy movies to /media/hdd/movies/ on your box and use the Movie Browser plugin to scrape the info from the internet.

Just copy them to your hard drive on the box. Copy to media/hdd/movie.
You can then access them the same as your recordings.

Thank you both for the tips. I did wonder if that was possible. Is the movies folder where all your recordings are? is there a way of keeping them separated within this folder so that i have my wifes normal series recording in one place and my childs movies elsewhere?? or having them on a separate HD? I will look into the movie scrapper thing?

Grog68 on another forum wrote a plugin called Movie Organisor which puts all your series recordings into separate folders.
I don't think it's available in plugin downloads, you may have to google it.

If you copy the files to your box using an FTP program such as FileZilla then when you have navigated to /media/hdd/movies/ you can RIGHT click in FileZilla to bring up a menu that has the option to create a directory/folder. Create the folder of your own name and copy the kids programs into that. Are you aware that you could also create a folder for your wifes programs and configure the autotimer/timer to automatically put the programs into named folder? You can have as many folders as you wish.

There are other ways of creating the folders including with the box's remote control.

You still have to add bookmarks, otherwise autotimer won't allow you to select the folders.

There is no need for external plugins to view the folders though.

Thanks for the info Guys.
I have also been considering running the KODI plugging and then I can just add all my media to that movies, pics music the lot which I dont think should be to complicated to access as I assume it just adds a KODI option to menu option?
If I did decide to go down this route could I then use an external harddrive for my KODI Media to keep the internal drive free for the wifes recordings?

Why not just get an external drive rip the films to it and plug it into your tv USB port then no messing about
