I have just moved from a duo to solo4k.

Flashed the box a couple of times but still seem to get the same issues:

1. Samba - I can't get this working. When I click on samba I get an error & it takes me back to the menu. Won't let me start it.
2. During first setup I am able to load the plugins but once everything has been setup, I can't then access them. I click download & nothing loads.

Can anyone advise me where I'm going wrong!

Have you installed Samba from the plugins (feeds)?

Oh damin it! Can't load plugins... So I suppose I will have to reflash & install on first run.

Yes, Could be... I have flashed the latest image though. Did you have any issues with plugins not loading as well???

Are you using ViX 5.0.027? Feeds working fine here.

All of sudden the feeds worked & I've managed to install samba.

However, that is not the end of my woes.
My box seems to be really struggling! I have programmed timers during the day... when I come back, sometimes it just hangs & I don't have my recordings!
It seems go incredibly slow at times (spinning vix) just changing channels & sometimes crashes.
Finally, today I'm noticing an issue where the picture goes weird, sort of slows.

All in all i'm having a really bad time with the box. Here's a video, showing what I mean - https://www.mediafire.com/file/s8z72cwtfqmtg8q/VID_20171008_104541.ts

I've tried a swap file but there is no difference.

The box doesn't feel overly warm but I'm wondering whether it's overheating???
Any advise would be welcome!

did you reflash and setup box from scratch or used settings restore?
spinning vix is box under stress.
are your recordings going to hdd which is setup correctly?
is your epg going to internal flash which is a no no.?
most boxes should say what temp is running

Memory issue on a Vu 4K box ... you have to be joking

Can we have some facts, like tuner configuration, Sat, cable ?????
Using FBC or legacy connections ?
Installed plugins???
Why could you not install from the feeds?
Have you checked all connectors?
Have you checked the hdd for disk errors???
Is output set to 1080 or 2160? 50/60 or auto?
Temperature should be in Info (menu/info)

If your box has a fan
Maybe: Menu -> Setup -> System -> Fan Control
