There is a new driver release http://www.world-of-satellite.com/showthread.php?56738-NEW-Driver-(Driver)-update-Octagon-SF4008-12-05-17&p=457435&viewfull=1#post457435

In there is a reference to "ac3 no works. : fixed"

So I assume in the next ViX release (028) the problem with ac3 is fixed.

I had the same problem, the drivers from 15-09-2017 returned to the same problem with the sound, install the image from day 14-09-2017 hi install driver only from 09-14-2017.

I've had a somewhat similar problem. Updating to OpenVIX 5.0.027 (by online update from '026 or by USB flash) results in no sound output at all (AC-3 or MPEG, live or recorded). But another SF4008 which I bought a couple of weeks ago is working fine with 5.0.027.

There's another sf4008 ac3 driver fix which will be in 028.

I am having the same issues with no audio and not just on vix is with most of the images, satdreamgr, atv, egami, openeight, and is just with the new drivers I can install the images on the flash or multiboot and it does not matter, but if I go back on previous updates let say from the beginning of this month than the audio is ok.
I don't know what to make of this, I don't think is my setup, any ideas would be appreciated.
Regards.
Tunder.

Nothing to do with any users.
The SF4008 drivers were changed 6 days ago in the OE-A (which is the basis for many images - such as OpenATV, Openeight etc) producing the issues with AC3 audio, They were fixed yesterday and the fix will be added to images based around the OE-A when they run their next image builds.

I have the same audio problem after updating yesterday.

Should I manual flash the previous image and will it be sorted ?

As clearly stated previously either A/ flash an older image or B/ wait for 5.0.028 that will include the fix.
