View Full Version : Why does the forum have a 'no edit' policy after a 5 minute period?

Hi
Just wondering why the forum has this policy.

I can't imagine allowing normal edit would cause any abuse/problems - or does someone know differently?

One reason is that people post something, others to start to respond, only to find the original content has changed or been removed.

Thanks for response.

Isn't that biting off ones' nose to spite ones' face ...... kind of thing?

This is the first and only forum I have ever used to think this way. Wouldn't it be easier to just educate posters to not do that or we will spank your bottom. :)

Thread moved to Forum feedback

Consider bottom spanked for not posting in correct section.;)

Don't you get nearly 30 minutes to edit?

Maybe it depends how many posts you have.

It used to be 30minutes. It changed after the last v-bulletin update.

Many do not and I've not noticed any abuse of the system where forums allow editing of your OWN posts from years ago.

I've seen a few smart asses doing it. Not many but as they say there's always one.
