Today I received from Germany the new DVB-S2x tuner which as you may know also supports MultiStream channels and of course DVB-S2x channels.

IMO now the HD51 capabilities surpass the SF4008 for features and maturity of drivers, I particularly like the multiple partitions for real fast multiboot

Partition 1. I have OpenATV, 2. OpenViX, 3. OpenViX with Kodi and 4. the new OpenPli 6 RC.

Not really interested in Kodi on STBs as it's poor compared to my FireTV 4k but I had spare partition so.....

OpenATV and OpenPli are good for comparing and troublshooting.

The HD51 now gets pride of place as my main STB, undecided whether to hang on to the SF4008 or sell it.

I'm using this USB tuner for cable, seems to have new drivers and works better than any other cable tuner I have here.

Forgot to say if PV is your thing then certain capabilities are built in to the drivers ;)

Yep, they have continued to add/update the HD51 capabilities and with the recent HbbTV addin and DVB-S2x capability it far exceeds the promised but not delivered SF4008 features.
For me, it has become my office test/build receiver and like you with a genuine multiboot capability an absolute brilliant receiver for development.

DVB-S2X tuner is not yet available for general sale and also in test phase with Mutant.

Is Multistream Combo mode supported? Is there a blindscan binary?

Testing phase is over now and tuner is on general sale at least in Germany but there it seems to be for the AX HD51 which there is more dominant than the Mutant.

OpenATV forum gave away 50 of the new tuners free in a raffle over the last week or so !

Is Multistream Combo mode supported? Is there a blindscan binary?

I tried TP 11496 H but not a sniff of a signal, I didn't expect it as the chipset is the same family as the SF4008.

No idea about blindscan but I'm guessing not.

Can you raise that transponder on the tbs?

Just tried the sf4008 with the TBS and still no signal, not sure if there is a signal at all.

The TBS is just useless if it's not receiving a signal, it takes 15 seconds to register each button press.

Also KingofSat and FlySat differ with parameters.

KingofSat and FlySat differ with parameters.Yes but both work. I.e. there is an algorithm. Change root to gold or gold to root and the PLS code changes but both pairs will work. With combo mode this is not possible.

With SF4008 combo mode is not possible and Octagon has told me this is a hardware limitation. So, for the time being, TBS is the only way to open those transponders (even if the performance is crap).

I don't understand then why I didn't get a sniff of signal with the TBS.

I touched on this with MCelliotG a while ago. He said (Re: 30W 11491V 7522 8/9)...

It is there I receive it perfectly with my TBS and osmini as long as I set the is id to 1. If you are using Octagon it cannot receive Combo

I can't verify this because I don't have the TBS, but certainly no Combo mode using the internal PnP tuner of the SF4008 and this has been verified by Octagon as lack of hardware capability.

As it's a sunny day here and after a little tweaking of my CM1.2 and by a complete fluke using the SF4008 and TBS I managed to scan in the channels 30W 11491V 7522 8/9.

I say fluke because it wasn't repeatable, further scans found nothing and the signal finder shows no signal (see pic below) and after further scans it takes a reboot to bring back the stored channels.
