Can I ask why you are using an external HDD with the Solo 4K? Back to your issue. Have you done the usual Initialised & Mount of the HDD? Is it a powered HDD?

E2 receivers formatted HDDs need to be ext3/ext4, thus why you maybe experiencing issues. Also the HDD needs to be powered, another reason you'll be experiencing issues.

Why not install nfs then you can use Windows explorer to connect to the box and hard drive

I have already answered your question. You need to initialise the HDD to Ext3/Ext4. But in doing so will not be readable on your Windows PC.

Maybe worth enabling logs then restart your receiver, try a playback, then when finished upload the logs here for a Dev member to take a look for you. Maybe a driver related issue, but will need logs.

... usb hd's should really have their own power supplies, as has been mentioned before.

Not all external USB disks have the same power supply requirements and not all USB ports can supply enough power to drive them. The power that a USB port can supply may be limited to around 7.5W which may enough for a low power "green" disk but not enough for a high performance disk. The power that the port can supply may be reduced if a high speed data transfer is occurring at the same time. Furthermore, the power from a USB port may be OK for the average power requirements but not enough for the instantaneous requirements when the disk is in certain modes. This is why many external disks come with leads to plug the power into 2 USB ports and/or have a facility for their own power supply.

In this case, what is the specified maximum current/power from the USB port on the box and what is the maximum power requirement of the hard disk.

‏I used internal HDD and USB powered external hard drives (Western Digital My Book USB 3.0) but I almost faced freeze problem in screen while forwarding and backwarding a reced video from a Full HD channel
And I use the remote control of receiver solo4k for forwarding and backwarding and I use >> keys

FF will be working the usb drive harder than simple playback, and may be just too much for the 5v supply to work reliably.

Everyone knows it is a known bug on the solo 4K and has been reported many times, by myself included.

Is it the problem of the hardware or firmware(image)?

What do u mean by it wasn't like this? U mean the drivers got better? Is it a software problem?
