VU+ Solo 2 USB Turbo USB cable tuner not tuning channels

Hi,

New to this forum so please bare with me.

I have a Solo 2 with the VU+ Turbo USB Tuner DVB-C/T2 running the openvix-5.0.016 image.
The solo 2 recognises it after i downloaded the drivers for it.

I have tried to scan channels and it only picks up 4. It is the 1st time i have used cable as I've always been using Sly.

Can anyone advise what im doing wrong?
if any further info is needed then please let me know.

Have you set your area Net Id correctly? Use Autoboquetsmaker.

I have completed the steps again and this time it has found 550 channels
Menu>Setup>Service Searching>Signal Finder>SNR = 87%, AGC = 93%, BER = 0
Not sure what this all means but I thought it would help.

Menu>Setup>Service Searching>AutoBouquetsMaker>Configure>Setup Mode = Expert
Menu>Setup>Service Searching>AutoBouquetsMaker>Providers>Virgin UK = Yes (all the others are NO)
-Virgin (UK): Area = 41015 Birmingham TDN
-Virgin (UK):FTA only = No
-Virgin (UK): generate main bouquet = Yes (all channels)
-Virgin (UK):Generate section bouquets = Yes
-Virgin (UK):Generate HD bouquets = Yes
-Virgin (UK):Generate FTA Bouquets = Yes
-Virgin (UK):Generate FTA HD Bouquet = Yes
-Virgin (UK):swap channels = Yes

All HD Channels say "service not found! (SID not found in PAT)"

When i select FTA Channel only BBC 1,2,ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5 show. (BBC 1 says BBC ONE West MIdlands)

I am in Walsall. Im not sure what my NET ID is, however i did a quick google search and found this - Walsall - West Mids TW, 40974 131000 6952

You do realise the the only channels you get on cable are fta SD . All other channels are encrypted.

No, didnt know that but BBC 1,2,ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5 only work and are in SD. These are the only ones that are listed under the FTA Channels

there are no HD channels that are FTA on cable

I can't see any of them. All come up with black screen.

That is because they are encrypted. Why did you get a cable tuner just to watch a few FTA channels?. You would get all these channels in HD on satellite

Because satellite has been changed by sly and no channels work

Engineer menu of official receiver. Or try them all one by one. Start with nearest ones first.

Just use ABM. Change NetID until you find your correct one.

Well you sounded surprised the premium channels were blank so i was confused what you were trying to ask there.
Anyways. At least you got it working now

I think I have managed to get the correct net ID. It was the one mentioned in earlier post.
Still having the same problem in which none of the FTA channels work apart from BBC1,2,ITV, C4, C5

I have even gone through all the Regions Virgin Media UK (Telewest, ex CW, Brute force, Pure)
Have done scanned with tuner A and B which are DVB S2, set as not configured
Are these the only FTA channels on FTA on cable?

There are less than 8 free channels on Cable. No free HD ones.

BTW, my advice was to just use ABM. There was no need to go into any other menu.

Freeview is only available using an aerial.

Like abu said. you get more channels by using an aerial.

Oh i see.
explains why i only get these channels all the time when doing ABM.
haven't got an aerial so cannot do a scan on this.
will have to do some testing to see if i can get all channels through cable.

You need to use the official tivo box to get the channels

i cannot get a picture on any channels. All the channels are black and do not say aything.

Got it all working now. It was the location of file which i was not placing in the right place.
all HD and FTA working now

it was the CCcam.cfg file. i didnt have the CCcam.cfg in /etc
