I want to look around the files on my device.

Does the VuPlus NFI-Backup plugin make a zip type file of the system that I can look at on my PC.

I tried copying everything using ftp but it wanted to copy the HDD contents as well.

Would have taken hours.

I just want to get a feel for the file structure and what individual config and XML files look like.

Thanks

The NFI tool will crreate several files on the HDD

/media/hdd/vuplus/duo/

The above is the location for the USB flashable files.

/media/hdd/

The above is the location for the file for Network installation file. This file will have a date and time stamp in the filename.,

You can FTP the files over using your favourite FTP application.

Hope that helps.

Basically the file created /vuplus/duo can then be saved on a USB stick and flashed back to your receiver as you normally would with any other image, except all your setup, settings, bouquets will still be there. You wont have to go through all the setup process again. Very handy if you want to try out another image without using multi-boot.

Cheers lads.

But can I expand the file from the USB backup to see the individual files.

I want to get a feel for the file structure in the flash.

No, you will only see the 3 files used for USB flashing inside vuplus/duo
