Hi all. So I am finally buying a 4k TV.
My question is, if I stick some 4k movies on my solo2 hdd, does it have the grunt to output 4k? Or if I can use it to stream 4k iptv.
I understand that I can't receive the 4k TV channels but just unsure if I can use it for 4k movies or iptv.
Thanks all

If you put them on a Hdd and attach that to the tv you'll be able to watch them but not through the solo as for 4k Iptv I would be amazed if it was even real I haven't found Iptv that can do 1080 let alone 4k. The signal might say it is but the bit rate is so low it looks worse than 720.

So 4k movies can't be watched via the solo2?
How about 4k in kodi through my solo2, would that work?

The Solo2 hardware does not have the codecs to play 4K content. If thats what you want to do then you need a 4K receiver or an android box - some of them are capable.

you will need a 4k receiver. the solo should do max 1080 p or I

Just my two cents here. The Vu+ Solo2 that you have doesn't have to come in to the equation when you are looking for 4K movie playback. Depending on the TV, the 4K movie files may just be read/played back off an external HDD or USB stick.
