Is there no couch flashing in the image manager for this box ??.

Couch flash not supported in ViX for any arm processor boxes.

The only (indirect way) is to flash Open ATV, and then use the ATV image to couch flash ViX to one of the other image partitions. Then use ATV multiboot to restart on the ViX image.
If you google, there is a sticky post on the HD51 (from me) that gives you a plugin to install to flip back to the ATV image.... you can then repeat this process, restoring your backup settings as usual.:)

-add support multiboot hd51/vs1500

-add "MultiBoot STARTUP switcher" hd51/vs1500 - bootmode/image

-add backup hd51/vs1500 as recovery (disk.img multiboot 4 partition)

Thanks Abu, but does this actually flash the image? I know it produces the appropriate USB/HDD images for flashing ... but still thought you needed to usb flash or use ATV/MIPS image to couch flash the backup image

EDIT: Yes, it does as Dimtrij has added in all the HD51/VS1500 code for backup, flash (partitions 1->4) and restart to appropriate boot image for HD51 and VS1500 ...... so great plugin ...... but not on our image feeds??

As in the other thread, yes it flashes.

Unlike Image Manager, you have to manually unzip and then select the appropriate folder.

there is code in the ui to unzip a file before flashing... but I cannot see this plugin in our feeds????

@abu - I think @twol inferred it was on the feeds when you stated

It isn't on the plugin feeds. Sorry if I misled anyone.

If it was added, I would imagine that it would be also be added to the pluginsnotwanted.patch for Vix.

If I find the ipk (shouldn't be too hard - if necessary I guess I can build it), any issues in adding this in a post??? I don't need it, but could be useful for some HD51 (and some other 4K receiver users) - you can always PM me.:)

Many thanks Abu.... will solve a few issues.
Andy''s post is informative, but although you can overwrite the current image, with the HD52/VS1500 you would normally flash an unused image partition and reboot from the new flash image.
