Hi can anybody help me please, ive re flashed my os mini to the new 5.13 firmware, but i seem to be having issues with my hard drive that i used before.

1. Ive formatted my 500gb hard drive to fat32 (still didnt not work)

2. Tried to initialise but it seems to get stuck at 88%

am i doing anything wrong?

Cheers
Dan

Format the drive from the box with initialisation feature ext3. Other than that there might be something wrong with the drive. Do not interrupt it. It can appear that it gets stuck but leave it 15 minutes

Try using the free partition wizard on your PC. Remove all partitions and then create a new partition and format to EXT-4. When done put it in the box and boot.

Try the following in a telnet session:

init 4
e2fsck -p -c -f /dev/sda1
Puts box to sleep, and forces a check of disc (ensure you don't have recording or timeshift in operation - /dev/sda1 may differ also so ideally ensure you don't have USB stick or other HDD attached except for this one external drive)

Failing that, attach box to a windows system and run a full check disk and do a full format (not quick) in fat32.

I put my old hard drive back into the external case it came in usb3.0 and found that the osmega wouldn't recognise it. I then connected the hard drive with some old pc connectors and separate power source and it works a treat

Could this be the reason... http://www.world-of-satellite.com/showthread.php?56473-Lost-USB-HDD&p=447282&viewfull=1#post447282
