Hi there I could do with some input please, I`ve just bought a brand new and unformatted hard drive but after installing my box does not see it so I am unable to initialise it, I`ve reflashed the image hoping this might solve the problem but to nothing has changed, so am I missing something here and help will be much appreciated the drive is a western digital 1TB green star specialist for PVR use and exactly the same as the replaced hard drive
Try formatting it with Fat32 on a PC then initialize it

yeah I was thinking of doing that but was worried windows would corrupt it and still the box wouldn`t see it

You don't see a Storage Devices option in Menu > Setup > System?

there wasn't just after installing but after several reboots it appeared again but still did not see my hard drive, short of connecting it to my desktop to format to FAT32 I`m devoid of ideas, but I cannot remember having to do this in the past

okay I`ve now put back in my original hard drive and this is not being recognised either now, the new drive I plugged into my desktop and partitioned it FAT32 EXT3 with EASEus partition manager and still not recognised, storage devices is not showing up in the set up list either with both drives, really puzzled now

If the HDD is recognised when connected to your PC, maybe faulty port/connection on your TM Twin OE motherboard?

Hi there hope this helps and thanks for your help
There's a message in there saying the SATA link is down.

I take it that means the connection to the motherboard has failed and why I cannot initialise the hard drive, I`m buying a caddy to make the drive a USB plugin device because when I plug a USB stick into the box storage device reappears in the setup list and is recognised, thanks for your help
Might be worth googling SATA link is down - could be as simple as a jumper setting on the HD.
