View Full Version : [MB Premium Mini+] CrossEpg crash and Telnet

Hello,

I have an ongoing problem with CrossEpg causing receiver to lock and crash. When this happens the only way to restart box is via the on/off switch as Telnet is not recognised. The only time Telnet works is when the box is working OK and I am able to send any command eg opkg etc. and safely restarting box. In other words when I need to use Telnet it is not recognised. I have now deleted CrossEpg and only use EPGImport, was having the two epg’s causing this problem?

Hello again,
Quick update to anyone interested. After uninstalling CrossEpg, and running Automatic EPGImport (Rytec) at 4.00am this AM that my box has not had any problems starting. Previous to this If I tried to run any of the EPGs automatically the box would not start in the morning so I would run CrossEPG and Rytec manually and at times the box would lockup. Has anyone had this problem?

It has been posted many times that it is better to use EPG importer for Rytec and Cross for OpenTV.

When downloading from internet using CrossEPG Downloader, you lose control of receiver until it finishes process.

I did try to use Sky UK Open Tv (Astra2 on 28.2) when i installed CrossEPG, I tried again just now and box crashed with software error

It must be the Internet EPG providers you had set before. Two of us have tried, but we can't reproduce it.

Try this plugin/script

Then set CrossEPG JUST for OpenTV EPG.

Ok thanks for that, I have removed old EPG data by recommened method, then removed both "CrossEPG" and "EPGImport (Rytec)" plugins.
Downloaded both plugins.
Set CrossEPG with only Sky UK OpenTV and downloaded manually. 154610 events, 10.95 MB. No problem so far
Set EPG Import with " Rytec XML TV" for the following: France/Germany etc/Italy/Poland/Spain and downloaded manually 261876 events. No problem so far.
Box is set for Auto EPGImport (Rytec) for 4:00 am daily

Hello again,
Decided to run EPGImport automatically for 4.00am and CrossEpg automatically for 6.50 am. This morning I returned to box and box was stuck (front panel clock was showing 6.50 approx) front panel is set at non scrolling. I set new epg timers for EPGImport at 10.00 am and CrossEpg at 11.00 am. will keep you posted

Re. epg downloads, box restarted Ok at 12 noon, will EPGImport for 4.00am and CrossEPG for 6.00am and see what happens tomorrow!

Yes, I should, but I will give it (CrossEPG) one more chance.
